Found this rare footage from the 65 FA Cup final between Leeds and Liverpool, all 7 minutes of it.

Photo shows Revie and Shankly (good friends) leading out their teams.

Leeds United were promoted to Div 1 in 1964, then FA Cup final in 1965, not bad Mr Revie, not bad at all; little did you know of the greatness that was to follow for well over a decade. Mr Revie, you gave the world Leeds United with a reputation of being the most feared team in Europe. As Johann Cruyff once said "when Leeds had the ball, they made you dance".

Proper men, proper footballers who could dish it out and take it and who could actually kick a ball properly. Thats the football I grew up loving, not the modern ****e version. Wish they still played like that <doh>

Have to say that I laughed at Ristac's comment. I post stuff from NN myself, but it's not that long ago since I discovered it. I agree that not everyone will be familiar with it, or scour it as avidly as you or I (I have too much time on my hands - a lot :D ).

Have you considered that losing 3 limbs serving in Afghanistan might have shaped his current lifestyle?

Was the pun intended. If so it was brilliant.
You seem to be gearing up for wanting another punch up with me.
Time for me to leave you to it.
Have a good trip. Safe flight.

??? Don't wish to sound insensitive, have I missed a post somewhere? Are you referring to LL and this has actually happened to him?

Jock was using it as an example Ristac....he was trying to get chippy to understand that some leeds supporters have their reasons for not being able to get to matches anymore.......I think jock failed...

No, you haven't missed anything, and yes, I'm referring to LL, and no, this didn't happen to him to the best of my knowledge. Apologies to the innocent on here.

I was simply trying to make a point. There are a couple of posters on here that go way over the line in pursuit of LL, simply on the basis that he doesn't go to matches, but likes to compile match reports. Personally, I find it ridiculous too, but strangely enjoy reading the reports. Although a 2nd hand compilation of events, it makes a good read. Because of these reports, he gets torn apart on a daily basis, with calls for him to leave the forum & 'go back to JA'. Now it's got to the stage that he's not even allowed to express an opinion without being abused mercilessly. It's not on, is it? Aren't we all Leeds?

I was trying to make the perpetrators realise that they'd crossed the line, and perhaps realise that sometimes people aren't as fortunate as themselves. Not everyone is able to go to matches, for a variety of reasons. Would they continue to abuse LL if he had indeed been disabled, or was bed-bound, or suffering terminal cancer, for example? I thought I might prick some consciences. I was wrong to think that, it would seem.

You must have posted this as I was typing up my own response. You were spot on. Expect now to be accused of being given this opinion by someone else. <whistle>

Thats a lot of words to say you were being dishonest. But at least the two of you now have something in common.
You are itching for a fight and want to play the martyr card again.
Well I aint playing and I aint running after you this time!
This is a fight you have chosen to pick.

I wont be changing my opinion on LL and its not the match reports in themselves.
Its the fact that he was pretending to be going to games, and never accepted he got busted.
Couldnt believe that, and so it proved, once a liar always a liar in my view.

It was also a very bad example for you to use on your part. I happen to know a few of the lads injured in Iraq and Afganistan through stuff I do to help out and from what I see they are inspirational.

Everyone can have an opinion and express it but nobody should be pretending they were formed in ways they arnt.
Anyway enjoy your trip even though its pretty pointless, you wont be in Russia!

So it could happen from watching the news?
Stick to facts and stop making things up.

Actually shocked that you would imply such an untruth. If you think its something to bandy about so lightly why dont you come with me for half a day when I volunteer at Lister House in Ripon it might change your mind.
