Milan Jovanovic has today left Liverpool Football Club to join Anderlecht. He completed his medical today and has left Anfield. Source: http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/reds-complete-jovanovic-sale Thoughts? Good luck Milan. It didn't work out for you at Liverpool but I wish you all the very best at Anderlecht.
I got the same news on my facebook page, nothing yet on the official site, maybe it hasn't been up-dated as of yet.
I've just seen it,however expect the squad list to be up-dated in due course. Thats another one down, possibly two of the hardest to get off the books are gone, the other being Konchesky. Lets see if we can get shot of the rest ie Degen,El Zhar and Poulsen.
Agreed. I would add Brad Jones to that list as well. With Doni arriving to provide cover for Reina, I would expect the club to try and move him on. If these players do leave, it gives us significant resources in the wage budget to bring in new players.
I totally agree. Kenny, this has been strongly reported wants two more and these are a centre back and a left back. One problematic area and one area that requires necessary cover. I reckon we can hold out for another striker until January or next summer at the latest. I believe that this is just phase one of John Henrys Liverpool renaissance.
I rember when we sighned him and the first few times thinking he looked quite good, direct running, strong ect how quickly that turned to bemusement then disappoinment> wish the lad all the best but glad hes gone, surely proffesion pride would make you want to move when your obviously not wanted. Poulson im looking at you.
I thought Poulsen would have been a good signing when we were first linked with him. However I had my doubts when I heard Jan Molby talk about him. Rambo said he's a genuine player but he's not Liverpool quality by any means. That got me a bit worried. Hodgson had him at FC Copenhagen and you know what managers are like with working with players they previously worked with. Some come off, some don't, Rafa did it with Luis Garcia,Fabio Aurelio,Momo Sissoko,Pellegrino. In all honesty only Luis Garcia was a success.
Probably one of hodgsons biggest failings, when a manager has a short time to prepare its naturel to fall back on what you know, unfortunatly hodgson was used to lower class of players than where suitable for Liverpool, Konch was a good left back for Fulham but never good enough for us, Same with Poulson fine at a smaller club but no where near good enough to step up.
Ain't got nothing against Brad Jones but with the arrival of Doni to provide cover for Reina, do we need him? He is battling to be Australia's number 1 goalkeeper and needs to be playing to get the number 1 jersey. We've got younger goalkeepers as well to provide even more cover for Reina and Doni. Personally, I feel we don't need him.
anyone know - did we get any cash for Milan, or was it just a "get him off the books" freebie? cheers...
The article on the Liverpool website doesn't say but rumours in the past couple of weeks said that we were willing to let him go for free to get him off the wage bill. By the way, welcome to the forum!
guys... 1. brad jones. actually i've seen a few of his reserve games and the one first team game too. he's way too short and prone to errors, in other words every laughing boro fan on 606 were right and utter and total waste of money. don't get me wrong he seems a nice lad and all but he is simply not up to the job we require. 2. the same goes for the likes of jovanovic, there's nothing personal in it but they are simply not up to the job required and the blame lies not on them but on the manager who signs them. Konchesky had the whole mother incident and ran like a girl rather than fight for his place in january. Him i don't wish well but the rest? I've nothing against.... epscially not for being roy's men. Thats pointless.
