Very much so. I like the way both he and Pierre conduct themselves on and off pitch.

On the Leicester front btw, I thought some of Slimani's hold up play was great.

MOTD2 don't say an awful lot more as a whole about us other than the tired old "how many more times can they keep doing it" line.

They did say that Romeu was awesome though.

Good player already. But humble, speaks well, obviously ready to learn, yet also knows his own mind too. And a bit of a sense of humour in there. I like the guy.

I saw him wince when he took a goal kick and for a second thought '****, he's done it again'

Here's hoping its not a repeat injury!

One of the main reasons I was happy to let Wanyama go was that my gut told me Romeu would easily fill that role. Pleased to see him playing so well. Not missing Wanyama at all.

edit: like I had any influence over wanyama going. poor phrasing.

Am I completely alone in the rather childish hope that Vic would produce just one more mistimed tackle?

If puel can rotate and still do well in the league and cups it bodes well. I certainly underestimated him. So far.

That's the main reason Davis has not been as influential so far this season - he's further up the pitch and not as effective with his back to goal.

The good news is though that this side, playing this way, is still improving.

Ranieri mentioned the team rotation that Puel did as a possible reason for how hard we made it for Leicester. On MOTD, they didn't mention our team rotation, but they did pick up on Ranieri's point in that he has perhaps been too reliant on his central core of players. Of course, this was their strength last year...helped by the absence of too many injuries....but they may have to be more flexible with the Champions' League in the mix this season. All this points to the good decisions made by Puel....having the courage to travel to Israel without some important first team members shows his experience as a manager.

P.s. sometimes things don't work out, but we must judge over the season and not start sweating if one match goes belly up.

Also good mention for Fonte/VVD playing very deep, totally negated Vardy's fearful presence when long balls are hit in behind by Drinkwater, Leicester's only tactic other than capitalising on mistakes. Meant Romeu had to cover a lot of ground, which he did!

Romeo showed his defensive side and his workrate , but the thing I like a out him is that he is always in space and available for a pass whether it is from defence or from a forward meaning we keep the ball better, something that Vic did not do

Yes, there was a point where Fonte had become trapped a little on the right hand side, Oriol saw it and scurried back into space so he had a nice easy option. Very game-aware.

Having just watched the full match stream off the Saints Website, the game felt different from when I saw it live. Live it felt we were far more dominant than it looked on screen.
Good performances from Romeo, Hojbjerg & Fonte, disappointing ones from probably our three most consistent players in Forster (kicking), VVD and Davis.
Special mention for the referee too, keep the game running really well

Too much fuss has been made, in some areas of the media, about Leicester being tired owing to them having played 7 games in the last 22 days, which is why they didn't play so well (where have I heard that before?), and why they didn't beat us.

HELLO, so have Saints, played 7 games in 22 days, plus this was our third away game in a week, with a 7 hour delay to a 5 hour flight back from Israel, yet our form has been maintained/improved by good player rotation, and we're not whinging about it.
