It's official. Villa have pulled the trigger. 12 games is plain stupid. Their team is broken and it will take anyone quite a while to mend it. Hope they drop like a stone the way they have treat him.
Get SCTEEVE in!!!! To be fair, what did they expect, a young chinese businessmen comes in, ploughs £50m on purchases and they cant manage to win games. Tony Xiai is inexperienced and wants quick results, the two dont tend to come together too well. Some of the older palyers from last year will be like "here we go again" some of the newer players who have come in due to Roberto wont be too happy. Unless there is somone world class available immediately thats willing to take the job then theres no point.
McClaren would be better, but either or. Im not really sure anyone they bring will will drastically change their fortunes. The club is pretty rotten to the core. Allowing players to go out partying, ban them for a week and then play them again. Micah Richards and alike robbing a living. The villa side is alot like the Newcastle side that went down before, but we removed the deadwood, the rot and replaced it with grafters, Villa failed to get rid of the rot and now it will only extend to any new players
If there is one club I wish nothing but misfortune on its... Sunderland But Villa are a close (not that close) second.
now Guidolin sacked by Swansea! FFS calm down, he came in when you were in freefall, turned you around and kept you comfortably up, now axed after 7 games, and they're not even in the drop zone.
Swansea have jumped the gun but I assume they must have someone in mind who they feel they need to act quickly on. It doesn't take long these days. Both Di Matteo and Guidolin can count themselves poorly treated. As I say I wish Villa nothing but the worst. Swansea meh - although we did never hear the end of the Shelvey deal from their fans, sooooooooo...**** em too Yeah you heard me right Valley.
Just seen they have already appointed Bob Bradley. American owners, american manager. Bet the cheerleaders are gonna be A1...
It's a tough one this. Many on here were calling for McClaren gone after only 12 games in charge. I wasn't one of them. I felt like he should be given time, and that it was stupid to sack someone so soon. With hindsight, the ones calling for him gone were right (though we wouldn't have ever got Rafa if he had gone that soon). There's no doubt that Villa are a club in turmoil though. Couldn't happen to a nicer set of fans!
Obviously they've had Bradley line up for a while, but Swansea are getting stupid, 3 manager sacking in 2.5 years, they're rapidly decending into a Leeds/Watford manager farce. Guidolin had done a great job at the end of last season, slow start this season, but after seeing yesterday's match, it was obvious they could turn things around and start getting points, really shabby treatment of him by Swansea. Villa - meh, their team's still full of the stinking dross they had last season, and they've spent a fortune on players who haven't done anything. Doubt Di Matteo can have much argument tbh, they've immediately targeted a return to the premiership this season, and have won one of 11 games in the championship. not good enough.
Surely it has to be Big Sam (if he is not banned). Apparently he is very good with Chinese businessmen.
Schteevie, Schteevie, Schteevie! (I so, so, want this to happen, perfection) That said, daft sacking someone after 10 odd games, especially when they are a club in a huge mess currently ( and the last few years) You don't solve that overnight without looking radically at the entire structure and backing someone to push through the painful changes in culture/organisation/etc etc. They need a Rafa (but not our Rafa). Maybe RDM wasnt that man ( I dont think he was hired to be that btws..they seemed to just want to chuck £ at the problem it seems)..but I cannot think of anyone that could carry that level of root and branch re-organisation through? There again ..maybe AVFC just want to keep on keeping on ..and Steve Clarke taking over as caretaker isn't necc a bad move if that's the case (he was treated fairly shabbily by WBA a few years ago). He would likely see AVFC a mid table Championship team ..which my heart says is exactly where they should be.
Villa board really are a complete joke. RDM was a moron to take the job, so is anyone else who will take it in future.
He has spent a fair old whack has Roberto to secure 1 win and 19th place. To be fair to him though they had only lost three games.
Apparently Bruce is holding out for the Sunderland job which should be coming up shortly. He feels he wasn't given a proper chance to prove his worth last time round. He is also excellent at getting sides promoted from the Championship so he should be ideal for 2017-18.
Blah blah ****ing blah. Are you 100% convinced we are going down? No ifs and ****ing buts. 100% sure?
Its more wishful thinking! Your years floundering around in the relegation places seem to have allowed you to develop an uncanny ability to put together a decent run when needed most. Unfortunately as we didn't have this valuable experience we couldn't save ourselves last year. However it surely can't work for you every year. Thing that should make you feel a bit better is that you haven't played many of the lower teams yet. However you need to start winning your home games (actually any games would be a start!).
