LJ will stay. He has a genuine affinity for BCFC and a great owner to work with who will not only back him but will give him time if things take a turn for the worse. As other have mentioned, he's building a team from basically scratch here and it will truly be his team. LJ is a bright lad and will realize that long term is what matters, not a new shiny object that may turn out to be a dud. Villa is a poisoned club right now.

'LJ would be a fool to even consider talking to Villa'

Not sure why, Villa are a massive club who may increase his salary 10 fold.
Think it's more down to Junior's self belief and ambition.
As for him belonging/liking City, I don't buy it.

Perhaps in these days of revolving door managers and players it would be nice to see a club stick with a manger through thick and thin and not go through the wringer every time results don't go your way. When the end of the season comes and certain clubs get relegated I despise the way that some of the players who created the situation by not stepping up their standard of play then complain that they only want the level of football from which they were complicit in losing.

And who gets it in the neck for creating these situations, the manager every time, and the players just wander off to their mansions in Cheshire and count their barely earned monies. When I see a Premier League employ Bob Bradley, of all people, as their next managerial guru then the footballing world has indeed gone totally mad.

In my usual moaning way I was not a fan of Lee's appointment due to his lack of experience and yet there's something to be said for calmness and commitment and the avoidance of the usual suspects who come to the fore when managerial changes are to be made. This season is shaping up to look promising at least and let's just hope that we will have no need to look for a new suit in the manager's office any time soon.

Stay Lee and complete the job. Sorry guys I know some of you must be wondering who is this ghost writer but it is really me - honest.

Kodija got a massive pay rise, LIKELY a chunky signing on fee, and if he fails to live up to expectations someone else gets him cheaper and benefits if he strikes form . a team with lesser expectations.

A friend of mine changes his job every few years! has been with his present company 2 years pre April 2017 and that's when he is off to look for another job. Why I asked well I am good at what I do and get better at other things in the same job ... he asks for a chance to move depts. up a rung and gets offered some peanuts and told "you are the best in the field you are in we like it that way" ..

Lee HOWEVER HAS A LOT TO LOSE... managed to keep Oldham in mid table as he did with Barnsley .. Maintained the good work JP & WE achieved after SC WAS BOOTED out and has started this season with " a chance of better things"... ok 5th after 10 is looking better! but should he go to AV and fail to keep them up what a stain!

    what Lee needs :-
Over past 5 seasons top 3 in championship
    teams have lost
    top ... ... ...5 ; 8 ; 6 ; 9 ; 11
    2nd ... ... ...9 ; 11 ; 5 ; 15 ; 10
    3rd ... ... ...5 ; 10 ; 11 ; 15 ; 8

    won
    top ... ... ... 26 ; 26 ; 31 ; 25 ; 27
    2nd ... ... .. 26 ; 27 ; 26 ; 24 ; 26
    3rd ... ... .. 24 ; 25 ; 25 ; 23 ; 24
    6th ... ... .. 19 ; 22 ; 19 ; 19 ; 19
6th is most consistent! get more that and you are likely in top 6 ...SO Lee 35 games and a quarter through ..
win another 14 and lose no more than another 7 means you draw 14 = points 76,
and we would all love to see 76 points! and clapping you on the final whistle

    Kodjia IS a fool
LJ isn't. Frankly I would be astounded if LJ upped and left for any other Championship side (although Newcastle would be tempting).
I think we can add the bottom half of the Premiership to that list also

Football is just utterly moronic at the moment. Bob Bradley to Swansea is the epitome of under qualified chairman treating historical well supported and loved football teams like toys or business ventures.

Total paper talk contributes to the nonsense as well, although with that Swansea appointment I guess it's not totally ridiculous to think this Dr of idiocy would employ LJ. Pleased with him as I am, I think his success will soon fade out and he'll wind up going down the leagues again. If he gets offered the Villa job he should snap that opportunity up, because despite where they are at the moment or where I predicted where they would finish when they signed Kodjia (not even make the playoffs), they are still a vastly bigger club than Bristol City, and the opportunity to manage such a team won't come along ever again for him. I personally think we are his ceiling, and I believe that's still a compliment as to be sat 5th is no easy feat.

Mark Ashton and some very good players are the prize here though, not LJ. Had Tammy not been such a success, our season would have looked very different. So you can't necessarily equate the success so far to LJ per se, more than a gamble paying off!

you also need to consider with Tammy that Chelsea picked us because of all the staff here ..as per the article posted a couple weeks ago.
Yes our season may have looked different . we may be 9th on 17 or 2nd on 23 could even be 21st ...

Perhaps we are starting to become a team of choice and, quite frankly, it's about time.

we got abraham because jnr put the hard yards in, nagging chelsea and visiting his family etc, hands up i wasnt sure about tammy at first, but what do i know, i realise that realisticaly, you cant compare but maybe just maybe in lj we have our, busby, shankly,or keegan - the right man in the right place at the right time.

Its a lovely thought W-O-A-C, but as you say, unrealistic although not every manager who takes a team into the Premiership is a Busby/Shankly etc.
If he brings us a major trophy in the next 3 years he will be on the way to that (i.e. stage 1), but just spending a while in the sunshine would be a tremendous achievement in itself, and a wonderful ride for the Cider Army.

And Mr Johnson would then be beyond reproach here in BS3.
Having said that, the best manager in the history of Bristol City got sacked in 1980 !

Appreciate that, but that is nothing new in football, that is nothing new in any sport! I highly doubt that LJ was the only manager visiting his family and keeping in constant touch to secure the deal. I highly doubt his managerial credentials impressed Chelsea and Tammy, it was most likely what we could offer him that other clubs couldn't. A quick 2 hour trip down the road to home, and we are going to sell our number one striker in a couple of weeks and you will be my starting striker week in week out, as the only other striker I have is 37 years old. LJ is the new GJ in terms of capabilities as a manager, has a few impressive seasons in him but sooner or later a bad run of results, dressing room tension and stubborness will have us all calling for his head. That's the way it's always been in football and I don't begrudge any player or manager moving on to bigger clubs, even though it will most likely backfire, you may not get the opportunity in your career again to do so.

Goes for the likes of Jose too!!.....
That's how it always works isn't it? Manager comes in does a decent job, will either be poached or a bad run of games be sacked.....Nothing new to any manager..

    See ?
Even when things are going unbelievably well, we are still a morose bunch of negative, defeatist manic depressives.
Heaven help poor LJ if we get promoted

Unfortunately there are some that has never, or will never accept LJ because of who he was...the son of..and he played for us because of..
I like to see it, that whatever his background, how ever he played for other clubs, when he played for us, weather he had a good game or bad, always gave 100%. Seems to be doing it for us as manager....In my opinion you can't ask for more than that....he's doing a decent job and right now I'm happy he's manager of our club.

I hate to generalise, but Bristolians have always been known as a "pint half-empty" bunch!

Because we are so put-down and life owes us, just as football owes us because we are the 5th largest city in England and so we should automatically be #5 in the Premiership (except that the Premiership is rubbish because only money heads and greedy bastards populate it. Try telling that to a life-long Bournemouth supporter who is witnessing teams like Manchester, Arsenal etc for the first time at his beloved club). Discontent is in the Bristol DNA and no amount of success will ever keep them happy, which is why half of them run off to Anfield and Stamford Bridge every Saturday
