He'll rotate with two of the top three - plus a 'proper' striker - ie, Austin and/or Long I suspect will always start, with 2 of 3 from Tadic, Redmond and Sophie Anne.

 

I'm quite content. The book "The numbers game: Why everything you know about football is wrong" proves categorically that not conceding is worth far more than scoring a goal. I'm much, much more impressed by our ability not to be scored against than I am worried by a single game in which we haven't scored. It's only the second game where we've failed to score. We won't need to bang in oodles of goals if we continue keeping it as tight at the back as we have been.

I'm heading towards Chilco's optimism about our potential finishing position (he predicted 5th in the competition). It may be our defence that drives us there but so be it.

Additionally, Shane's going to get one in soon and remember how easy it was for him to score towards the end of last season.

I'm also very happy that we're playing entertaining football again.

Well, on we go. Our games have featured the lowest goals total in the PL; Burnley is second in that department. Naturally, it will finish 4-4.

 

This is where most of our problems stem from, the formation means that we often receive the ball into midfield with the player's back to the opposition so it is hard to pick another forward pass, so it goes back again unless he can turn which can be challenging when you are pressed.

 

So I go away on holiday and we don't lose a game . If you have a whip round I am willing to make the sacrifice and go again for the good of Saints.......

Shame Cedric went off injured. We lost a bit of momentum in the game at that point as we were cutting them open beautifully.

Look forward to seeing Boufal. Think we look pretty ordinary without Tadic on the pitch. So need someone else who can provide that bit of extra quality in and around the box

 

Oy, I was first. They are getting the money together for my next holiday....remember I achieved 3 wins in 6 days. I believe they've managed £3.57 and a half sucked Polo mint.

 

Well, we were excellent in possession but unlucky/sloppy in front of goal. I'm really impressed with the way we are controlling games recently and Romeu is showing himself to be a potential player of the season with his performances. I had no idea he was coming to the end of his contract but he's shown me enough - sign him up now, Les!

Hard to say what we were lacking, Felt like Tadic wasn't involved enough in the early stages and when he did come in he was pushed wide, there was nothing for us down the middle. A pretty frustrating game. Feel bad for JWP, he had a great opportunity slip by for lack of composure.

Leicester are a ways off finding the form of last season, their style is there again but I never felt like they were likely to carve us open, we had to gift them a chance. That form they had is so hard to re-create. Still wish them well but they are frustrating to play against.

Chelsea will probably be wanting to buy Romeu back for £25 million - they took that diddy Luiz back for big bucks. I know who I`d rather have.

 

Like Ryan, he looks happy playing football, think he will be happy for longer stint with us. Not only is he good, he's bloody likable!!!

Been told Forster has a slight injury so looks like he will withdraw from the England team.

 

The guy just has no luck with these England squads. Just as Hart's place is looking vulnerable Fraser keeps having to pull out of squads.
