Redmond is being used as a defenders irritant rather than an out and out striker.

Using his height do you mean? He is 5ft 7 inches tall, I don't think that would work unless he has pogo sticks for legs. [Wiki claims he is my height 5ft 9 inches!]

Which would be absolutely fine if he was one of four goalscoring options for us on the field. But he's one of three. You can't carry an "irritant" in that instance.

For example, it doesn't matter with Liverpool that Firminho isn't a striker. Not when they have him, Lallana, Mane and Coutinho all on the pitch.

There's just too much pressure on Austin to do our scoring. (Not that I want to sit here and sound negative. It was a good performance and a good point)

I think you guys are being harsh, he had a decent game. Always looked to make things happen. Leicester just defended very well, we had little space for him to run at.

I didn't realize the Saints team had a 7 hour delay returning from Israel? 7 hours is crazy. I hate flying but more than that I hate waiting to hate flying!

I'm a lot more relaxed about rotating the team now I've seen it in practise. The squad is stronger and rotation doesn't mean fringe players and a couple of youngsters making up the numbers. Puel is keen to introduce the youngsters but quick to see when they are struggling and swap them before any damage is done as he did with young Hesketh on Thursday. I like how he is managing the team right now and for all those changes we are still solid.

Hope Cedric's okay. Like Jose, he seemed to be getting back to being decent again today (as opposed to playing with a Euro hangover).

Errrr......Are we becoming the draw specialists again? 60 odd % of the game and we can't score? Some people must be off goal scoring form, we just cannot afford to rely on one person to get the goals. I think we all agreed pretty well that before the season started. Is it the new system or should we be after another goal scoring striker, or both?

Apparently there were a lot of VIPs travelling back from a funeral. I think Saints players' VIP credentials tops a few politicians.

I think it's pretty fair to say that, on the whole, people like Ranieri because they see him as a good guy.

Not harsh, just realistic. We've gone without four quality strikers for this season. Only one of the recognised three is actually match fit and in goal scoring form. I've never known Austin to lose the knack of scoring goals but he can get injured. And then we're not in a very good place.

Redmond is great at what he does, and had a good game today, but he'll need at least half a season to learn his new trade. Hey, he's doing no worse than Shane Long at present, in front of goal, so he gets plenty of slack from me.

I thought hr was having his best start this season before he got injured. Linked up well with Tadic, we were a threat down that side til he went off.
