I didn't mention the Jak did I? I agree he shouldn't have been dropped, but my point was Marshall (or whoever had been in goal in your case) would have done nothing to prevent either of those two goals.
I can't believe the Chinese put down £6m and see nothing for it. How does that work? Not disputing that happened, just thought that if you paid a deposit and there's no sale, you'd get your money back.
It's no different to putting a deposit down on a house, if you don't complete on the sale, you lose your deposit.
Marshall played himself in with his performance against Stoke. Any chance we could give this argument a rest? Marshall is clearly the better keeper, anyone who saw him at Cardiff over the last 5 years or so would know that.
£6m though... You would have thought they'll be looking to still get the sale through. If we do eventually see a sale, I think it will be to the Dais.
I think you will find folk don't usally change or stop expressing their opinion simply because you disagree with them. His time at Cardiff was a mixed bag.
It really wasn't, he's pretty much universally accepted to be their best ever keeper. In fact, he was recently voted their 14th greatest signing of all time.
It's a completely unfounded opinion. Jakupovic has gone pretty well for us recently. But before that he was a complete car crash and there's always a mistake in him. Marshall's time at Cardiff wasn't a mixed bag, he was Mr Reliable and the Cardiff fans were gutted to see him go. He's the best keeper we've ever signed and far superior to all our other options.
He had periods of injury, he had periods of poor form, when he lost his place and he also had, admittey longer, periods of good form. I don't know what you call a mixed bag, but that fits my idea. I think we've all seen Keepers pass into and out of form.
I bet we'd pretty much all struggle to name any of the other 13, other than Bellamy!!!!! Yep.... magic list!!! http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/greatest-cardiff-city-players-century-11816134
As I have said to OLM, his time at Cardiff was not all success; I certainly agree that he found sucess and real form in the last half (ish) of his stay. Nor have I said, or disagreed with anyone over Marshall's quality. My only point has been that I thought Jak had done enough to retain his place; but that has clearly moved on now, as Marshall now has the place to lose. I have no idea why folk are jumping to the defence of Marshall's quality, because I have not called it into doubt. Although I don't believe him to be as athletic as Jak and I think that is a strong asset in the speed of the PL. But that is just my opinion; you are welcome to yours. Let's see how the season progresses.
I think that was the last of the hard games out of the way. we didnt exactly roll over for them either. OK we were beaten pretty decisively, but only when we were down to 10 men. We played well in the 1st half against Chelsea. Roll on the easier games.
