Just hearing some press bites from Toto Wolff about the engine failure: "AB-SO-LUTELY UN-ACCEP-TABLE"
Rosberg has been handed this championship on a silver platter all season. Hamilton has had awful luck and awful mechanics (which I believe were Rosbergs last season).
If Britney doesn't win the title this year he never will. There's still a lot of racing to go though and now reliability suddenly becomes massive. If we needed any more proof of what an arrogant top heavy **** team Ferrari is, Rosberg got knocked off the track at turn 1, went back to last, had a ten second penalty and still finished ahead of Raikkonen Couldn't happen to a more arrogant team and it staggers me that they still can't change their dynamic/attitude. Letting people like James Allison go, not protecting your team boss- it's madness.
A shame that the championship will almost certainly be won by someone who has not gone out and won it themselves. Rosberg has been stronger at times this year but he has not beaten Hamilton to the championship. Yet the only way he will not win it now is if he has a similar failure to Hamilton's today. Very disappointing.
Rosberg as world champ would disappoint me a little- I think there are a good 4 or 5 better drivers who would kick his ass in that Mercedes but unfortunately that's the name of the game. Hope we get a multi team fight next year.
I don't think it's unfair to say that Rosberg will be a disappointing winner of a disappointing season. But it's not his fault, he's done what he needs to do obviously. This delay in the poidum as well, seems like there's just a lul going on at the moment
Is Hamilton looking at an engine penalty too? If that hands Rosberg a win then even winning the other 4 races isn't enough for Hamilton, without reliability issues for Rosberg
Will be a test of nerves now for Rosberg, he's got this in the bag, only he can lose the championship. Very unlikely for Hamilton to win it without other things going his way. Who knows, we may luck into a situation where whoever finishes ahead in the last race wins the championship. Who knows....
Suzuka will be tasty. Hamilton can only do one thing and that is head down and do what he does best- what happens around him is irrelevant. Big respect to Alonso today for a super drive.
Hamilton has helped spice up the post race too, feeling sorry for himself with comments like "Something or someone doesn't want me to win this year." Which you'll struggle to find on any media outlet not shortened to "someone doesn't want me to win this year" e.g.
