Not the prettiest of displays but apart from a fifteen minute period we fought and deserved our point. It was another makeshift, or at least experimental team, and it worked well for so long until their goal. Moyes played the hand he was dealt and it pretty well.
Who doesn't struggle to break down WBA when they have a 1-0 lead? Defoe had enough chances to win the game on his own. We more than competed imo. We were the better team and would have been walking away comfortable if Defoe had his shooting boots on.
I think a draw was the right result given the lack of quality, chances and quality chances for both sides. Kirchhoff looked bad, anyone know anything about the injury? I think a couple of blokes near me got McLain booked, in a quiet moment one shouted "IRA twat!" and the other "potato ****!", twenty seconds later he's kicked someone.
I thought he fed on scraps other than 1st chance. I can't criticise him at all. I was sitting in Carling Stand Bri, second half if he pulled wide to get the ball, no one moved up top. Had no support.
All he can do is run run run and hit a cross aimed at nobody in particular. He's quite good at doing that but unfortunately for him it's not a very useful trick.
I wasn't knocking the lad, just saying on another day we could have won that. We were better imo. I'm under no dissolution though. In fact I warned we were in for a scrap. Nowts changed.
Good to hear Pulis praising the crowd as "tremendous", unless he is just letting the WBA supporters know what they should be doing in our circumstances.
Pulis message to their home fans but l was pleased more fans stayed for nearly 90 mins Just seen MOD - after scoring PVA celebrated with club doctor but I thought he'd left the club. ? If I'm honest thought Kirchoff was pretty negative -too many sideways passes for a player with his ability. But Moyes may move PVA to a wide midfield role as he did look effective
He's serving his notice apparently so still there for now, I agree about Kirchhoff he hasn't been his best lately. It'd help him a lot if there were more than one or two players around him that were on his level, I'm thinking of M'Vila. As usual. Anyone know about Kirchhoff's injury? Hamstring I believe but I don't know the estimated recovery. Not long hopefully but it could be a bad one.
Yeah it's really frustrating the M'villa mess up.as the extra points and league places + fan feel good factor would have wiped out that extra couple of million preventing the move - I've a feeling he'll be elsewhere when his contract ends But at least 4 pts from our next 2 games now KTF
And not too many left early -toppa Result could have been better but we played much better - as I've posted PVA may have shown Moyes the way - play in midfield KTF
I must have been watching a different game mate. I thought there was very little commitment until PVA came on. Until the last 10 minutes I thought we were utter garbage.
I saw that game but was relating more to the end result. Yes still loads of improvement needed but Moyes should see this aswell and act. Pleasingly more fans stayed which is encouraging for the players - they will know a draw against WBA at home is not good enough. It's a start after a disastrous close season and the long injury list. But anything less than 4 pts from our next 2 games will be horrific. KTF
