Have to show my appreciation for your cooperation in getting rid of McClaren, Sunderland could never get above Newcastle while he was there, this thread is about facts isn't it ?
Sunderland's last six games: P W D L F A GD Pts 6 3 3 0 9 8 +1 12 Newcastle's last six games: P W D L F A GD Pts 6 3 3 0 12 4 +8 12 You're right once again fredor. He didn't equal Sunderland's finish to the season, he slightly bettered it. He just didn't better it by enough to make up for the **** he took over.
Much appreciation for endorsing my comment that he was just not good enough against Premier League opposition , at least in the second division Newcastle supporters are able to see some wins maybe it could be better that he continues to produce at the easier level for a few seasons, sparing the faithful so much humiliation
Could have sworn promotion and relegation was decided over a full season and not just 10 games. Perhaps I'm wrong and that's why 5under1and are favourites to win the PL despite not winning one game in August and September yet again.
You have never struck me as being stupid fredor. Annoying, yes. Misguided, yes. Attention seeking and lonely, maybe. But never stupid. I can only assume that you are pretending to be stupid on this occasion for some sort of comedic affect. Under Rafa our performance would have had us in the top half of the table. Our end of season form would have had us in 3rd place (with Sunderland's form being an impressive 4th place). All of this with somebody else's team and players. Rafa's performance on it's own would have been more than good enough to secure survival. Sadly for us, he was not appointed early enough to have time to make enough of a difference to save us. Nobody intelligent will blame that on Rafa, but on McClaren for putting us in that position and on the board for not acting sooner. If losing games in the Premier League is a humiliation for you then you have my sympathy on this season.
I see now the point you are trying to make but even for a Newcastle supporter that is a very very long bow to draw
It was the specific point you asked about. What were our performances under Rafa during his 10 games in charge!
I would say that it's like pulling teeth...but that wouldn't be fair terminology to use with you when popping them in a glass at night is relatively easy to do!
The simple answer is NO , if they had been playing the team at the bottom of the second division I am sure that would have changed to YES , as a supporter of a second string team you have a responsibility to yourself to compare your teams performance to like opposition, you have no way of knowing how they would perform against teams in a higher division, even though they proved in the previous season that they were not up to it, it is possible they could have improved or conversely got worse , equally you should not be too critical of other teams that have to perform at the top level every week , maybe you feel aggrieved that Sunderland were in a large part for your demise but there were other teams involved to Have a nice day !
I suppose that means we'll just have to compare each other on how we got on against QPR away, as that is the only like opposition we have had so far this season. I haven't checked, but I am sure you did better than we did, what with us being a second string team and all.
