Just started 2 years ago but got disrupted a lot with illness. After saying for years in my "prime" it was an old man sport...I love it! I'm ****e. Bought a cheap general bag before I realised you could buy top notch for same price on eBay...but quickly found out its a bit like climbing in that newbies trash the gear lol.

So improved enough to buy better clubs this xmas...and join my 9 hole Club a walk away...because it's nasty and tight and cheap...distance is my weak ass problem...and my driving has gone to absolute ****e lol...

Love it though...same buzz learning the game as I did with Pool.

Yeah, I'm the same, once the hole goes longer than a par 3 the need for distance ****s my swing up as I try to put to much power into it and sends the ball flying everywhere except straight. I enjoy the chipping putting side of things but absolutely hate par 5s because it normally takes 3 or 4 shots (on a good day) to get onto the green for me :( .

Its not an old man sport at all, its such a brilliant game, challenging mentally and physically (more so than people think, anyway). Where did you buy your clubs? I bought a putter from golfbidder and was surprised how good the quality and how clean the club was for a secondhand one. If you are looking for clubs, and don't want to risk eBay, that isn't a bad place to look <ok>

Yeah..found that out...bought a basic club set..then realised if I'd gone on eBay I'd have got a better set for same price...but...like climbing...feck around and abuse the cheap **** ..then buy the good stuff.

I really love the game...at the mo it's about beating me...but not far from trying to bear boys around me lol..sorry competitive fexker

Its unbelievable how you can go from 1 great shot to the worst shot you've ever hit from one shot to the next. Its such a mental game where once you get some negativity in your head its hard to shake it off.

Never got the golf thing. Love crazy golf that's as far as my interest goes lol.

Crazy golf is a thing the family can all play and have a laugh. Golf is taken too seriously for me. But I suppose no dif to anything else. Pool and darts can be taken way too seriously as well esp at club and league level.

What everyone was saying about the golf. Be surprised if Europe won as the Americans have the added incentive of wining it for Palmer. rip <peacedove>

I think in general it's the snobs and the elitist stuff that puts some off.

Dart by contrast tries to be deliberately the other end of spectrum.

However... golf on the range is a bit of fun. Just hit the thing 50 or 100 shots in 15mins.

The yanks gave put the dosh in golf. There's far far too much of it. The arabs see it as elite and then get in on it trying to act elite and that's driven more cash in so the most average **** can make millions on the tour... if they can make a name.

Willett is probably that guy... Clark is certainly that guy... how he was made captain I do not know.
