Haven't seen much evidence of that, tbh.

The commentator said it too, was wondering more about how bass it is. Groin could be a week or three months.

Klopp was always going the to exaggerate the injury with it being the international break now

Swansea fans were ironically cheering the ref half way through the second half, and rightly so. Oliver was giving us everything for a while.

Point being, the officials were really poor across the board today. The foul on Mane right in front of the lino being just one example <doh>

You could hear Mane cry out with pain over the telly as it happened, and it was right in front of the lino. No idea how he missed it.

They were great for either side but I agree Oliver seemed to be giving us everything for about a 10-15mins period in the second half.

The lino in their half first half and our half second was terrible. Failed to pick up several offsides and missed Mane being stood on from about a yard away!

but was he crying out in actual pain or was it a cunning stunt to win a free kick? I suppose if he had rolled around in agony for 10 minutes we would all know nothing was wrong

The contact was clear on the replay though, wasn't it? The linesman was closer than the camera viewpoint, and even though he was on the other side of the man he should have seen it.

He was clearly stood on. That can be very painful but not convinced it needs a scream like he let out. Not really the point though is it? The lino was a yard away and told the ref it wasn't a foul <laugh>

Were 2 examples in last 5 mins where origi was free on left and he delayed the pass then mane made the run and just needed easy pass through but he delayed again until he ran offside. Needs to release the call quicker, still holds onto it too long.

Surely Milner #nailedon for Garth's team of the week, scoring a winner from LB

Not been impressed with Origi in his last few appearances. Sends to have become a bit lazy, maybe we've been spoilt with Firmino though.

He doesn't seem to fit, atm. It's as though he doesn't really feel part of it.

For some reason, I'm more satisfied with this win than our romp against Hull. I don't like it when players have been all over the media being asked about the title.....how many jinx's do we need in a week?

Last year, we would have lost this. So even when winning ugly, we've made progress....

Yeah, we should have been two or three down at half time.

    My ratings:

Karius: 4 Sorry, but he's no better than Migs, not with high ballsanyway. At least Migs is a shot stopper, dunno about this guy.

Clyne: 7 At fault for the first goal, but after that he was our best defender and involved in many attacks.

Matip: 5 Definitely his worst performance for us so far. Let's hope it's a blip.

Lovren: 6 Better than matip, but injury showed at the end.

Milner: 7 Our MOTM - again. Atrocious pass to Mane when clean through that should have gone to Studge in the proverbial aces.

Windy: 5 ****e in the first half. Improved, along with the others, in the second. Final pass was still lethargic though.

Hendo: 7 Would have been MOTM but for that silly booking Fine pass for equaliser.

Lala: 4 Did little before his injury.

Ford: 6 Glad he came on for the second. Was he looking for his shinpads in the dressing room for the first half?

Geronimo: 6 Useless in first half - couldn't trap a dead rat. Like watching Kuyt trying to hold the ball up. Different player in the second.

Mane: 5 Very quiet, even in the second half, by his standards, Pity as he had the beating of Naughton any time he wanted; Was stamped on by Ki right in front of the same blind lino who missed the offside.

    Subs:

Studge: 6 Outrageous booking in the first half - it wasn't a penalty but the guy stuck his forearm into him - had every right to go down. Always found space and criminally ignored on several occasions in the second half when in good positions.

Origi: 5 Did okay-sh, but lacked composure and the final ball once or twice.

Can: 4 Was only on long enough to lose the ball three or four times. A long way from being back to his best, but game time will help.

Klopp: 7 Did something to shake up the team at half time, when they should have been dead and buried. Must be grateful for the Swans' miss in the final seconds too, as we should have been three or four ahead after the purple patch following the goal.

Team: 6 A better win than Hull last week. We won't get away with many more first halves like that this season, and also it's no use dominating games to the extent that we did for the first half hour of the second and just have one goal to show for it. Many thanks to Barrow and Rangel for completely ****ing up a regulation clearance. God knows, today we needed it.

Thought i would through my thoughts in,

We are not going to play well in every match, to get a result when struggling is a good sign of progression.
Although it was not an entertaining match, these sort of 3 points are vital if we are going to make top four and push on, There will be more matches like this in a season than, demolition jobs.

I thought studge did a decent job, when he came on, i feel his link up play with mane could be very special.

It showed today how integral lala has become, to the way we play.

Karius does not look the big shining hope, we where all hoping he would be. However first competitive game, so must give the benefit of the doubt.

Well done on the result today. Overall you deserved it because you basically bossed the second half.......but we nearly sneaked a last gasp equaliser :(

We've seen Man City and yourselves in the space of seven days. You won't like me saying this but Citeh seem to have the better squad and are playing on a different level to most teams at the moment, with their off the ball movement second to none. Good luck when you play them!

Only a fool would disagree mate..City are much better as a squad. Just got to keep up with them points wise and then see how the games against them go..

Playing off colour today yet winning will help lol...

You lot could have killed the game first half..play like that against other teams and the wins will come...

We were off colour today, no doubt.

City should walk this league tbh.....but I expect them to make progress in the CL and as the fixtures (and injuries) build up, chances appear....some team will challenge them at some point. That may not be us if we play like today too much <ok>
