If we can't get another decent striker before/ if Birchall returns would you be happy to see 17 wins and 29 goalless draws ( 80points ).Pre season the defence have looked solid and we've had a lot of midfield possession to suggest we'll not be easy to beat. We got promoted with 29 clean sheets from BFJ Stannard and the football wasn't boring !
I would not mind something like 17 wins and the rest Goal less draws but I believe we have the team to get more wins than that.
Nice thought, but I reckon you'd get huge odds on the possibility, and that it would be a waste of money. Sorry to burst the bubble, but however optimistic you are there has to be a level of realism. By all means reach for the stars, but I'd settle for 3rd place just now and don't really mind how many we lose on the way. To get to 81 points (say) you can have 27 wins and 19 defeats, or 17 wins and 29 draws (OK that's only 80 points, but who's splittings hairs...), and a few other possibilities inbetween. Personally I think that watching the 27 /19scenario would be more exciting than watching the 17 / 29 one. But then I only get to a few matches a season.......
as has been said who cares as long as we get promoted. personally i'd like another wembley promotion as they are always the most rewarding and such a good day out but thats just me anyways see you all tomz!!
Trust me-as I see nearly all the away matches as well - recently 0-0 draws have been very exciting on our travels
Our aim I think is to try and get 3rd, if we finish above then that will be a bonus. The key to get out of this division like any other is to be consistent; we showed last season that we could do it by only losing 5 or so games in 2011 but with, in my opinion, a much stronger defence and more quality in midfield means the games where we drew last year can be turned into wins. COYG!
really impressed with the midfield this season, so many games are won or lost from there, if we have got it right so many goals can come from there,,,,
