I absolutely love Ritchie as a footballer. He took a step down to us and I'm calling it now.... if he doesn't make it into the Championship team of the season then I'll wear one of JPF frocks. The bloke is incessant with his running and has a passionate heart. It's just great to see a hard working classy winger doing the basics very well week in week out. It's been a long time since we've been able to say that. I'd love someone to do an analysis at season and to work out how many points/goals he's be instrumental in. Our most valuable player by a country mile.
Agree, best buy we have made for ages. Like a Robert/Ginola hybrid creature that also tackles back. He will become a legend here.!
I don't think he would have come to us if it wasn't for Rafa. Rafa's 'project' certainly has some pulling power.
I know, I still keep pinching myself. RAFA BENITEZ IS OUR MANAGER.!! We lucked out on this one, BIG time.!
It doesn't feel real sometimes. The fans played a big part in him staying and hopefully if we go up... they will play a big part in him signing a new longer term contract. He's an emotional man and feeds off the love the fans give him (just remember LFC) The fans trust him... Ashley trusts him.... so the potential is there for a long term period of stability at our club... something we've lacked since SBR and each and every one of us has craved since. The future can be bright... we must all continue to stick together to get out of this division and then maybe we can dream again.
I live in Bournemouth and all the Cherrirs I know say they shpuld have kept him. Second half of last season apparently he was drifting in and out of games and was no longer first name on the team sheet but they all say the thing is he has got consistent end product at all times when on the ball.
I'd love to see him more on the left. He's got a sweet left-foot and it would be great to see his delivery on crosses with his favoured foot.
Absolutely brilliant purchase. He is a classy player and I was surprised when Bournemouth let him go. Even more surprised when he took the drop from the Prem to join us. I knew he had quality but didn't appreciate how hard he works until he joined us. If he keeps this going he really will be treated like a legend.
Don't know if this has been mentioned on here but I noticed after Norwich's 3rd goal went in on Wednesday he absolutely laid into one or two of the Newcastle players who'd slacked off.
He's not got the quality or pace of Townsend but he works his bollocks off and he does have a bit of quality, and those two attributes will go a long way in The Championship.
Ritchie is more creative, but not as physically strong as Andros. Still, Ritchie plays with his head up..Andros mostly just runs. Not really the same kind of player. Watching part of last nights match, Ritchie is more like Bolasie.
Quality 100% player. I would like to see him on the left aswell with yedlin playing rw when Anita is back. But Le gouf is playing ok and getting goals so maybe not. I think the one player who currently needs a rest/dropped is Diame. Mitro and gayle up front.
Doing a good job. Seems a good character. I don't think he is a superstar personally and not in class of Ginola (Liam o - calm down on the coke flavoured muesli). I think Townsend is probably better. If we had both I think we would have good options. I still believe in Aaron's for some crazy reason. I think he could be better than nearly all we have had (not Ginola - he was a god amongst mere mortals - lazy yes but he was 6ft 1, powerful, skilful, quick, two footed, had a body swerve most could only dream of, could put crosses where he wants with pace, shoot - I could go on and on) Aaron's is running out of time though. Genuine left winger. Mitro is crying out for him.
