Defensively we have been crap. He hasn't helped himself though. He used to be great at controlling his area and taking crosses, but the last 2 seasons have been awful for him. Thought he was going to be the real deal, but not so sure now. He just hasn't progessed, in fact he's gone backwards imo.
I said that selling Cech was a mistake at the time and he still looks to be a much better keeper than Courtois now. Having said that, I wouldn't put much stock into save percentages, as they ignore lots of factors. If your defence is leaking like a sieve and letting strikers get into excellent positions, then your save percentage will drop. Some shots are just unstoppable. Bravo and Lloris are top at the moment, but they both have very little to do in a lot of games. They save a few speculative long shots and it boosts their stats. Two very good goalkeepers though, despite having some flaws.
Oh I thought it was the right thing to do at the time. He just hasn't progressed. Another keeper who I think has a flaw is De Gea. Great shot stopper but goes for too much with his feet imo. I think Lloris is the best atm.
Lloris is very good, but he gets beaten at his near post too often and his distribution is terrible. Great shot stopper, commands his box well and claims crosses with authority most of the time. Sweeps up very competently.
Hasn't he played for you twice? His haircut reminds me of Ian Walker. That's enough for me to think he's ****.
Yep, missed both games I don't watch pre-season games either. Not since Voronin and Pacheco looked like world beaters
Should've been an easy win, following Mane's early dismissal. Typical Scousers getting away with murder.
