Am really short for time so will beef this up a bit on Saturday evening when I am a bit more free.

Saints up against the Champions after 5 games unbeaten! Let's get behind the lads and continue on this good run!

Edit: Welcome back all to another match thread by Saintsfcfan. Saints take up the challenge of beating the Premier League Champions on their own patch, something they haven't done since Leicesters promotion.
Saints are in stinking form at the moment with 5 games unbeaten in all competitions, whilst Leicester are in a similar league position, also showing their mettle in Europe. A tough game by all means.
Ones to watch out for in blue are obviously the main men, Messers Vardy and Mahrez. New additions Musa and Slimani are also ones Saints will need to to keep track of.
Saints themselves will have a rested Austin alongside the fresh legs of David, Fonte and Bertrand, who will surely start following their absence in the Europa league squad.

    Likely team:
    Forster
    Cedric Fonte VVD Bertrand
    Romeu
    Hojbjerg Davis
    Tadic
    Redmond Austin

    Austin to score obviously!

Prediction: A close game with Saints coming away with a 1-0 win!

    COYR!

No. Though some of us may hope we win 3-1 ..... just to dent his clean sheet record <whistle>

Not sure I'm confident about this one, Leicester will be a funny side to play this year for everyone, they either turn up or they don't , dosent seem to be any between with them.

First away game I'm heading to this season. ..can't wait. Quietly optimistic which is funny for me. We owe them one after the game at the end of last season!

My over riding memory of Leicester last season was the relentless pressure from them in the 2nd half at St Marys, combined with their pace on the break. I think the teams that will do well vs Leicester will be the ones who have a plan for dealing with that. I'm fairly confident we will have a plan, but this lot can still hurt you, and they make it very hard for their opponents to get into any sort of rythmn.

They have already taken 2 heavy batterings away at pool and united , so you can definitely get at them. going to king power won't be like last season when everything and anything went their way. Granted they still have pretty impressive attacking options and will punish you if you give them the chances. But I just can't see them keeping teams out like last year, how many 1-0 wins did they have? Quite a few if memory serves me right , watched Porto in the week and how Leicester kept a clean sheet I beyond me.

The press will be nicely asleep before they can get to any difficult questions. :)

this is typical of life in that just when you think things are all sorted life will endeavor to knock you down a peg or two.

i often respond in such circumstances via an explosive **** in the face of adversity

    Team I reckon we'll see:

    Forster
    Cedric
    Fonte
    VVD
    Bertrand
    Romeu
    Davis
    Hojgberg
    Tadic
    Austin
    Redmond.

Hard to see how this one will go. Leicester have been much better at home than away so far. Though they're no where near the team they were last year.

Score draw. Austin for us ;)

Can't remember who, but a Leicester player was recently asked if their having already lost as many games this season as last, was due to Kante leaving.
His response was more along the lines that they can't defend set pieces as "hands on" as last season, owing to the clampdown, making them more vulnerable at set pieces.
Who'd have thought that Huth and Morgan would be less effective, when made to play fair? <whistle>

Namely, I think that you have to play fast against them. Try to get attacks early, because they'd love nothing more than to suck a bunch of our players forward before punishing them on the break. Conversely, they've looked unusually fragile defending in open spaces (and on set pieces).

Agreed, yeah. Fast accurate passing is the way to beat Leicester. Dwell on the ball and we'll get knocked off it, keep it moving and the spaces will open up.

Yep, no-one should really be surprised at the amount of goals being shipped by Leicester and Stoke this season. If Sam was to return to PL management at some point this season with a team in trouble, he too might find it a little more difficult now to keep sides out. It can surely only make the likes of Virgil even more valuable, the way he just towers above everyone and wins everything, as opposed to grappling with the opponent to try and keep them away from the ball.

That said, we've got to start substantially better in this game I feel than in our previous two games. I can't see Leicester starting slowly, so we're going to need to get out of the traps alongside them.
