Whole business is ugly, but money corrupts and there is so much of it in the game now and so many greedy grubby fookers involved I doubt this will ever stop. Mind you I think the Telegraph is dealing with this in a very grubby manner as well and if JFH is innocent they will have damaged both him and the club.

Is that Premiership Eight list the actual names or somebody's guess? Bit of a bugger with Bruce and Pulis on it. At this rate there's only Old Gravel Voice at Burnley and Baby Face Finlayson at Bournemouth as far as British manager with any credibility left. I suppose its only a matter of time before we learn that Dyche spits at old ladies and Howe likes to stamp on pigeons.

There's a suprise, old saggy chops and sparky on that list....<laugh>

Wouldn't have minded Steve Bruce to replace JFH if he was to get the axe, but looks.like he's damaged goods too <doh>

I thought Colin was "manager 8" who gave "special" players pay rises of which he took half...Puncheon actually accused him of doing that a couple of years ago

I remember that and the quick back track when asked to prove it, if Warnock did do it he wasn't stupid enough to get caught being recorded

WE MOVE ON TO THE FRONT FOOT
    http://www.qpr.co.uk/news/article/2...h-statement-investigation-update-3337908.aspx

    CLUB STATEMENT - INVESTIGATION UPDATE

QPR can confirm that we are currently unable to proceed any further with the club's internal investigation at this stage, as The Telegraph are yet to provide full and complete unconditional disclosure of all the information it has, despite a number of requests from both the club and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's legal team.

We urge The Telegraph to provide full disclosure of all its information relating to the allegations, including video footage and a full transcript of the discussions that took place.

The club believes this information should not be provided selectively, but unedited and unconditionally, in order for the club to view the full context and the sequence of what was said by all parties to include in its investigation.

Once again, we appreciate the QPR fans want this issue dealt with as quickly as possible, which is why we request full cooperation from The Telegraph in providing us with the aforementioned footage and transcript.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, his staff and the R’s players remain 100% focused and committed on the job in hand, and as a club we would encourage our supporters to show their passionate and loyal support, as they always do, when we play Fulham in the Sky Bet Championship tomorrow (Saturday) lunchtime.

It's so sh*tty of them to withhold this, it's willfully dusruptive and impacts on more than just the individual at the centre of the allegations. It's no longer journalism (if you could call it that in the first place) it's almost an act of sabotage.

Sounds like the telegraph has something to hide if they are not prepared to give up all video and transcripts.

I'm glad the club have said that publicly too. The ball is in the Telegraph's court now.

The police have asked to see all the tapes to judge whether they should mount an investigation. As they may be evidence in a prosecution I imagine that it may be some time before they can be released.

Yet more to feed the paranoia.

Perhaps the delay is the fact that the full transcript may expose their journalists who were acting under cover. The newspaper may not want to send video copies out in those circumstances. I expect there are technical ways around it, to keep the journalists' identity secure

More probably they never created any sort of transcript apart from the bits that they wanted to use.

I was thinking of the unedited video from the covert camera - they must surely have this and QPR management feel, rightly, it would show them the bigger picture

Hasselbaink insists he was simply ‘naive’
    By West London Sport 30/09/2016

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has told Sky Sports News HQ he would never accept money in return for signing players and was “naive” to attend a meeting at which he is alleged to have discussed working for a company seeking to sell players to QPR.

Rangers manager Hasselbaink says he would have walked away from the discussion had it been suggested he would have been paid in return for signing players.

“I would have walked out of there because I know that would get me in trouble,” he said.

Rangers say they need to see unedited video footage and a full transcript of the meeting Hasselbaink had with an undercover reporter before the club conclude an internal investigation they say they are holding.

As part of a Daily Telegraph investigation into alleged corruption in football, which this week led to Sam Allardyce losing his job as England boss, the newspaper reported that Hasselbaink held two meetings with an undercover reporter.

He is alleged to have discussed meeting investors in the company and potentially signing players they represented.

Asked in the Sky interview if he regretted attending the meeting, Hasselbaink said: “Big time. You know you reflect, you think back and you criticise yourself and you must say, that I have been naive. I have been naive.

“But then with everything with it, I have never asked for money for myself to take a player or to bring a player to the club. I would never do that.

“That is the painful thing about it. The painful thing about it is that I take my job very serious. Very, very, very serious and I want to succeed in this business.

Hasselbaink took over at QPR last December

“I can’t speak for others, I can only speak for me and this, taking money, is not what I stand for. It is not what I stand for, I have never done it and I would never do it just to get a player to the club so I can benefit from that. No.”

Hasselbaink insists a potential payment of £55,000 was discussed on the understanding it involved making a speech in Singapore.

He said: “I understand for the English public, or whatever public, that £55,000 is a lot of money. And it is a lot of money. But in the industry that I am in I am fortunate that I can make those kinds of figures.

“I was negotiating to go Singapore for a speech. That’s it. That’s it. No favouritism, no strings attached. I would not put myself in that position.”

QPR say Hasselbaink has been interviewed by director of football Les Ferdinand and chief executive Lee Hoos.

Hoos has also addressed players and staff to explain the club’s position.

Hoos has spoken to Hasselbaink, QPR say

A QPR statement read: “The club can confirm that an internal investigation is ongoing following allegations made against QPR manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink in a national newspaper on Wednesday 28th September.

“First and foremost, the club reiterates that we take these allegations very seriously.

“As part of the investigation, CEO Lee Hoos and director of football Les Ferdinand both met with Hasselbaink this morning to interview him regarding his version of events.

“Thereafter, a meeting took place at our Harlington training ground, whereby all players and staff were addressed by Hoos to explain the club’s stance.

“As part of the ongoing investigation, the club will need to view an unedited version of the video footage and full transcript of the discussions that took place.

“We appreciate the QPR fans want this issue dealt with as quickly as possible, and that is the club’s intention.

“In the meantime, Hasselbaink and his staff are continuing to prepare the team for our Championship fixture against Fulham this weekend.

In a statement issued on Wednesday evening, Hasselbaink insisted he had done nothing wrong.

“They offered me a fee to make a speech in Singapore. I do not see anything unusual in being offered to be paid to make a speech,” he said.

“I did not make any promises in return. I did not ask QPR to purchase any of the players who were said to be managed by them and did not and would not recommend the purchase of a player for my personal gain.

“I deny any accusations of wrongdoing on my part.”

I'm still waiting for someone to show me how JFH knows anything about the topic he was being asked to speak on, namely the Championship transfer market. He has only been a Championship manager for less than a year and even then Ferdinand does the actual deals. It is ludicrous for anyone to pretend he was just being paid for making a speech on the subject.

Just watched that interview. Hard to believe he is sitting there lying his head off like that, but I guess he could be. I really hope not.
