Manchester United struggling to score against Zorya Luhansk, still 0-0. For those of you that don't know them they are a team from a city in North West England.
I bet, unlike Spurs,United will try to win the EL and won't treat it as a competition for the reserves.
I have a feeling that not even the arrival of Bale will return Man U to its former glory. That was a terrible result.
It takes time to form a team. SAF always had continuity with only two or three squad players changing each season. However good players are, they can't play as a team together overnight. It will be a while before Utd play consistently well even if Mourinho gets the right players on the pitch together.
That's how I played football at school: kick the ball at the defender, and with them confused slot the rebound into the goal. As opposed to my tactics at Rocket League, which are invariably the exact opposite...
They won.I bet they are happy......I can just see Jose wiping the sweat off his face....and anywhere else that's sweating!
Which is why appointing a manager whose entire career has been based on short-term, almost blitzkrieg success seems so daft. Mourinho hasn't lasted more than 3 years anywhere for very good reason - he is simply too combustive to hold on to a changing room for longer. Beyond that, I honestly don't rate him as having the vision or long-term nous to really 'build' a team to last. He is overly-reliant on buying vastly expensive players to fill gaps in his squads, rather than promote youngsters into the fray. I hate to say it, but someone like Pochettino would be ideal for you right now.
Very true, but your players are good enough that if Mourinho plays the right ones in the right places, and gets them on the same page with a relatively simple plan, you’ll do fairly well at a minimum. The biggest problem may be churn. With so many options, and no established Plan A to fall back on, there’s a temptation to chop and change till everyone’s lost faith in themselves and the manager. Not that that’s ever happened with Spurs *cough* AVB *cough*.
