Match Day Thread Hapoel Be'er Sheeva vs Southampton 29/09/2016 Kick-off 6pm

HBS are a very poor team and I think dragged down our performance too. Happy with the clean sheet and the point but if we had upped the quality a smidgen we would have gotten the win. Still - top of the group for another week.

 

BBC's Jonathan Jurejko is a twat - still, he can move on from slagging off the Saints to praising the mighty Utd now

 

Best thing you can say about that game was another clean sheet.

 

Need another striker like Austin. Long/Redmond doesn't work.

Fine with that....another clean sheet and a valuable away point...at the same time preventing Hapoel Be'er Sheva from pulling away.

Well, 0-0 with six shots on target combined doesn't sound like it was the most memorable of games.

Got a point, and we're in good stead. Inter doesn't seem to have any interest in the competition, so if we can pick up a few points against them while Beer/Sparta duel we should be off and running to the knockout stage.

 

So Prague beat Inter 3-1. Wasn't our game with them another one we won because the opposition were crap?

 

We definitely need to find another poacher for the team. Someone like Danny Ings maybe. Although having 3 dodgy, injury prone strikers might be pushing our luck.

Nor me. I thought Saints played a high tactical game, and it was full of interest for me. Sure we were a bit pants in front of goal, but we know why that was. Pretty good result in a cauldron. And I don't think the lads took too much out of themselves either.

 

Even beating them once leaves us in good shape...we'd be top of the group if Beer/Sparta split their matches, and in second with separation should one of them take 4+ points from the two games.

 

VVD so much more calm in interviews than Austin, he would have been ranting and raving!

 

Incredible atmosphere. Best thing about the game.

- we started badly
- we let them build their confidence and the crowd got behind them
- after 30 mins we regained control and let the ball do the work
- we should've done more with the ball in the final third
- I should have done much better and should have scored
- I'm okay with keeping a clean sheet after coming all this way
- Now we need to focus on Leicester
