I was thinking the very same this morning and as I said so to a mate of mine.

The club is full of players whom I don't recognise as having anything to do with the club itself. Everything has now become one of those large pointless sports in America which is nothing but franchises and this particular franchise is just where these players come to be based. In our case it's Newcastle but it could be anywhere else.

Following a major league team (see what I did there) is now just like another following any other and I have become totally disconnected to it all. Today I actually said that I am thinking of not bothering looking at the results because it may as well be a team in Northallerton, Nairobi or New Zealand the way that things are these days.

Perhaps one good thing to come from Brexit would be that fewer third rate players will be able to come in from abroad leaving room for our fourth rate players to come in but actually wish to play for each of our clubs. This is just isn't for Newcastle as this would apply to other clubs around the UK and it would be good to some some proper local pride in our clubs once again.

Would I really care if we didn't have these so called big names in our league? No, to be honest, not.

I am really at the stage where I don't care if I don't see any more results this season or for any season in the future. I simply don't care any more. The money has just ruined this game and the magic has gone.

It's not an English league. But the Government is making a fcking fortune, so what are they going to do? If anyone at the FA tries to get the Govt involved, they'll be told "you need to keep that fcker as profitable as possible. Do you know how many pensions we've got to fund in the next decade?"

That said, the thing I could never get my head round was how we, in England, have a separate bunch of greedy fckers running OUR top flight. The English top tier no longer belongs to our own football association, how the fck did that happen? How was it allowed to happen? The Bundesliga is still the Bundesliga, Serie A, La Liga - which in their own right are not a great deal better to watch - are still the home of three of the greatest National Teams, home to Europe's most succesful clubs, and it can be no coincidence that all these top flights are the "property" of their own FA. Our embarrassment

Money has crippled it, no doubt. Sky seem to be quite happy with Man City destroying the league, but didn't seem that happy with Leicester last year; seemed like only the BBC were banging that particular drum. Because it doesn't stir up the wealth. I mean, it's embarrassing on a billion levels.

For the first time in a long time, I'm actually feeling fairly relaxed that our manager isn't one of the ones involved. I wouldn't be so confident about our past dealings though - especially since we had Allardyce here too. Let's just hope they don't turn up anything dodgy from his time here.

There is probably a reason (or a few hundred thousand reasons) why we signed players like Cacappa, Geremi and Viduka on free transfers.

Rafa wouldn't go near a bung. He has too much class and integrity.

I am hoping that Boumssong was the result of a bung; nothing else could possibly explain it!

There have always been rumours about Bumsong, the £8million fee and Sourmess.

Anyone would think we signed him from Rangers and that Graeme Sounness had very close ties with Rangers, and had business partners still involved with Rangers at the time.

    As if.........<doh>

There was a report from Lord Stevens in 2007 that named the Boumsong and Emre transfers to Newcastle. 5 managers who's clubs were involved were McClaren, Allardyce, Redknapp, Mourinho and Souness.
