A couple of years back I would have said a class signing for this division, haven't heard much about him of late, fingers crossed.
Boro fans' player of the season last year; can play left-back or centre-mid, on a free, been attracting Premiership interest and a battler. It sounds too good to be true. Ideal, in fact. Since there's on or two Boro fans on here (literally one or two!) I'm going to make this a cross-board thread so they can add their comments. Was the reason he left the Smoggies because of a wage dispute? Since the other clubs being mentioned are West Ham, Southampton, Birmingham and Wigan, I'm not getting my hopes up on this one.
Well...i rate him..but if boro cant afford his wages cant see papa smurf paying up but would love to be wrong
He was on £11k/w but 'Boro were only able to offer him a pay cut when his contract ran out. I can see us possibly getting him on a deal the same as the one he had there, especially with the season starting so you'd presume he will be getting more desperate to find a club.
It would be a good signing from what I remember of him in the Prem. Even though he can play left back, is he any good there?
We so need someone like him to bring a bit of quality into the team and a player who can actually pass the ball.
an actual Boro fan here. To be honest I hope he'll stay with us, we've offered him a rebuffed contract recently for more money after the sale of Lita. We are now on level pegging finacially. Arca on the whole can be a key player, he can unlock defences with one pass and some days runs the show! Good passing and awareness, seems to make time for himself and dictate pace, one of those type players. On a downside he's quite small in stature and won't win many/any balls in the air. Arca simply is not a left back and I'll put that to bed now! He shouldn't be used as one, his best position would be in midfield, defensively he's too slow to be a left back and his defensive positional play will leave you exposed. If you get him he's a crackin buy and on his day one of the best midfielders in the league! (I saw him batter liverpool practically on his own our last season in the prem)
he was training with saints pre-season looking for a deal but never got offered anything. Rumours were that he was not fit or fast enough.....
He would be a good signing for many teams in this division. Doesn't matter about his lack of pace, he has a brilliant footballing brain and certainly has an eye for a pass. Was our player of the season last season and Mogga really rates him.. looks like he's set to re-sign with us which is great news but nothing is final yet. You just have to look at what he did when he came on against Sheffield United in the final 10 minutes. He controlled the tempo of the match (as he does in every match) and all of our attacks went through him. No coincidence that he was the one to set up Emnes to win the match for us in stoppage time.
