I fear we are a secondary concern, the real money and possibly the reason for the purchase of our club will be in the building of "New Queens Park" these are hard nose business men and there is little money to be made owning the 6/7 biggest football club in London
Ned has been playing RB at PL and Championship level since 2004. He may not be a great RB but he is one! He's also a CB where his concentration lapses hurt even more. Very useful to have such a versatile defender, but with a defense as thin as ours has been for many years Ned is very often first choice in one position or the other.
About as happy as I was with the selections, tactics and motivational skills shown by Redknapp. But we are now spending a fraction of the money we spent then. I'm far from convinced by Hasselbaink, but he should be given more time to prove himself imo. The summer signings all look decent and if we can add a couple in January, we should have a reasonable squad for this division. Why not wait and see how performances are by the end of the season. Unfortunately for JFH, a big decision will have to be made come December, so he will need some results before then to keep the pitchforks brigade from storming the stadium.
I don't disagree. I have no doubt that on a cost (per point?) basis JFH is doing a better job than Harry and Ramsay. Nonetheless, the performances are a poor spectacle. Judging us by our gameplay against Preston, Blackburn and Burton, we seem no better than those teams, whose budgets I understand, are even less than ours.
I think that, if we give him till the end of the season, we could well be in league 1! I'd give him till December, unless his greed gets him fired sooner. I hated the football under Redknapp and thought he had ccompletely lost his mojo when he was with us. Thing is, I think there's more chance of me sleeping with Kim Kardashian than there is of Jimmy getting us anywhere near another Wembley play off!
I'm assuming that her rather ample, how shall i say it, rear would have the same bouncy effect as a bouncy castle........or something like that.
I just looked back to remind myself. Warnock took over on 4 Nov 2015 and stayed for a month. We drew at home to Preston the following weekend. We then lost 0-1 to Middlesbrough We then beat Leeds 1-0 at home, and we beat Reading 0-1 away, before Hasslehoff came in and the results deteriorated. So 7 points in 4 games, and one of those games against a team that gained automatic promotion. I'd take that kind of form now.
Middlesbrough was probably the best performance of the bunch. The Reading game was appalling, won thanks to their goalkeeper throwing the ball in. I can't honestly remember a thing about the Preston or Leeds games.
You have a better memory than me, but I do recall feeling that Warnock's team selection and substitutions passed the test of common sense. Under Ramsey, we'd just been whacked 4-0 by Fulham, and lost to Derby, Brentford and Birmingham. Warnock's no magician but I think he did well in the month he was given
He went missing from the 'Boro match if I remember correctly. It later emerged that his wife was ill. In the Leeds game Austin came off the bench to head in the winner from a Chery corner and we won 1-0. The Preston game was an appalling feast of football that finished 0-0. At one point the keepers were kicking the ball to each other on at least 6 occasions. The Reading game was mind numbing until Onuoha scored in the last minute. Fer lost us the 'Boro game giving away a penalty at the death with a stupid handball.
