Simon King, Business Development Manger at Hull City, commented "It's fantastic news for the club that First Hull Trains have continued their sponsorship of our matchday programme. We have a fantastic relationship with David and his team and we look forward to providing real value to their brand objectives." - Corporate speak (= bilge) It's football, arsehole, not ****e.
Yeah, King. Stop trying to get people to spend money on Hull City. We'd rather have no sponsors and go back to playing Boston and Lincoln.
No im afraid not, they couldn't come to an agreement with the club apparently http://http://strawberry.co.uk/posts/hull-city-programme-end-of-an-era At least we can pre order this seasons programmes and get them delivered to our door! http://www.hullcityafc.net/page/NewsDetail/0,,10338~2410931,00.html Gotta say im very disapointed that they wont be doing them anymore
I was out with him a couple of weeks before he issued that press release and he never said a word. He's a club director too, so it must have been a bit messy, I'll probably see him tonight, I'll see if I can get some more info.
I don't understand what First Hull Trains (or any rail company with any advertising) hopes to accomplish. If you want to go somewhere on the train you go to the station (or the website) and say I want to go from A to B on Saturday and I want to get there as early as possible, then they give you a ticket and tell you which train it's for. Has anyone ever said I want to go somewhere, I don't care what time I go but but it has to be on a particular train firm's service? Surely just scrap the advertising for what is essentially a monopoly situation and use the savings to offer cheaper tickets.
