Striker Johnny Russell scored 10 goals for Derby County last season

Cardiff City could win this one one or two nil pals!

Cardiff City left-back Joe Bennett will miss the game against struggling Derby County with a calf injury.

The Bluebirds also have doubts over the fitness of winger Anthony Pilkington and midfielder Aron Gunnarsson.

Derby County forward Johnny Russell could return to the line-up after missing the last four games with a calf injury sustained against Newcastle.

Jason Shackell (calf), Craig Forsyth (knee) and George Thorne (leg) all remain sidelined.

    Match facts
    • Cardiff have won five of their last nine home league games against the Rams, drawing three (L1).
    • Derby have lost just one of their last six league games against the Bluebirds (W2 D3), though that defeat came in the most recent meeting in April last season.
    • Derby have the worst shot conversion rate in the Championship this season, scoring with just 2.4% of their attempts.
    • The Bluebirds have lost three of their last four games at home in league competition, winning the other vs Blackburn.

Said on another post that Pearson has been suspended by derby so Powell in charge. Could go one of two ways that. Hopefully throw them into disarray.

That was as bad as it gets.

The only thing that can happen after that is the standard 'Cardiff city have today parted company with their manager' press release.

If he stays I think I've got to go. I can't watch that.

Someone at the club had to realise it's us plus 2 others for L1 at the moment.

Genuinely don't know why Zohore is even on the bench. Terrible, terrible player.

Not his fault we're defending 10 yards too deep. Have got zero pace so teams can squeeze us with a high line. That we're pathetic in the challenge with no intensity as a side to defend or win the ball back. And certainly not his fault that we didn't change anything despite the fact we were totally ineffective in defence and attack for the entire 80 minutes I bothered to stay and watch. It's horrific to watch.
Every side we play will play a high line, force us to play 40 yards from goal and there in total negate us as an attacking threat. It's not about having a a quick 20 goal striker, it's about having enough pace up top to worry teams into dropping off. Harris up top would do that. It's not a solution long term (probably) but it would have forced Derby to change the way they defended. All of a sudden Whits and co. could have been knocking balls into channels and we'd have had the pace in attack to turn them.

It's absolutely soul destroying how easy Trollopes 'style' (i've never used the word so loosely) is to play against.

Someone at the club needs to wake up, we're the worst side in the division being propped up every now and then by the odd quality moment from a couple of decent players.

It's us plus 2 others and we're already almost a 1/4 of the way through the season. I'd have Slade back in a heartbeat.

Snap - wasn't at the game last night, but it's what I've been saying on here for weeks.

It's all very well playing deep if you've got the pace to counter attack - we haven't and are such an easy team for the opposition to play.

You have to give defenders something to worry about if they push up supporting their midfield and strikers on a team like us holding a deep line.

Harris is in no way the finished article but he has pace enough to make oppostion defenders think twice about playing the game 40 yards from their own goal. Leaving such a big gap back to your keeper would be fatal if we had pace to exploit it.

Why can't someone at the club with influence see what most of us in the stands are saying? We are ****e at the moment and radical changes in vision are needed.

I could have played centre half alongside the excellent Keogh for Derby last night.

It's a joke, we're the mugs that pay our hard earned and it's clear to see what the issue is. How Trollope and Lenny can't see it is quite simply unbelievable.

Trollopes comments on WOL about an ok first half and the same problems with 2nd half goals are deluded.

It's one of the reasons why he has lost the support of the fans. Clueless.

I noticed that waste of space Jazz Richards was getting plenty off the crowd last night and he certainly downed tools. The boy is completely useless. If we get another manager soon i am sure that Richards would never play for us again. Sorry about the rant but he has nothing to offer and that must be frustrating for Connolly and Morrison as they are constantly having to watch him as he is a liability. We are at the moment Doomed. I expected him to get sacked after that last night. Was talking to lots of people on the way out and everybody is of the same opinion. Trollope really does not have a clue, he has lost the dressing room, the crowd has never been with him, and for the owners the only good thing he is good for is How to clear a stadium out with 15 minutes to go. What is happening to club i have supported from a young age, it really does make me feel sad. There is nothing fun about turning up anymore and that is down to the Manager.

Expert at traffic management. Looks good on his cv.

Richards' card was marked after the non-Ayatollah in his first game. He needed to up his game to get us back onside. Not happened.

Comes to something when Fulham fans were pleased to get Molly Malone in exchange for him.

It also raises questions about the policy of bringing in Welsh players. I have previously said that I don't know what Huws is supposed to be good at and where he fits into the team. I'm still waiting.

Yes another on a big wage, and Huws appears to be another waste of space.

Because they are policies just for the sake of having a policy. Rarely works out well.

Could have bought half a dozen promising youngsters from the lower leagues for the money spent (wasted) on Gounangbe, Zahore, Richards, Huws etc who would at least be fit and made an effort, or even kept Healey.

The pre season transfer decisions are now coming back to haunt City big time.

What other football club has a transfer committee made up of non football people?

The issue for me is this guy has brought in players who may not make it under someone else. Ultimately we are back on the merry-go -round with a Chairman who will not spend money on new recruits, so who are we going to attract both managerial or player wise? I believe Mr T will stick with him until at least January. Incidentally, not well known but factual....this football club has released 15 non-playing staff in the last month.
Possibly someone making the club an attractive proposition for potential purchasers? .
