Germany produce wonderful cars Mercedes, Porsche, BMW and VW, Japan Nissan, Honda and Toyota. The UK, ummm??? The former British Leyland and Rover now disappeared as they were poor products. Continental Europe provide managers like Ancellotti, Conte, Trapattoni, Lowe, Klopp, Mourinho, Guadiola, Enery, LVG, Deschamps, Wenger. England ...... Pardew, Bruce, Howe. Like Leyland cars, our football managers are very poor products and will soon be unseen in the PL!! Maybe the best British manager is Chris Coleman.
Prepare yourself for the Daily Mail Sport Headline "Saints Slave Shame" when they disclose someone who was with the club 5yrs ago has a brother whos friend once talked to a youth who was at school with someone part owned by a member of the Mafia.
I wouldn't go for Hoddle on the grounds that he is an obnoxious ****ing twat. At the moment I think Bruce is the safest pair of hands.
It will be interesting to see how Gareth Southgate handles the extra responsibility as in many ways he could be the best long-term solution. His knowledge and experience of the U21/U23 players is just what the future of the senior team needs. Hopefully we'll see some of the U23 team replacing the dinosaurs before too long.
I'd like to interview the potential candidates with just one question - "Will you pick Rooney?" Anyone who says yes gets eliminated from the process. In fact, I think I'd take it a stage further and simply get the squad and team selected by a social media vote and then do the same for substitutions during the game. Why do we even need an England manager when we only have a finite number of English players to choose from in the first place? When was the last time an England manager shocked anyone in the selection process anyway? It picks itself. And the performances have been practically identical for as long as I can remember. All the FA really need is a figurehead. I'll gladly do it (for £400k).
So the other 8 managers have got their lawyers involved to try and block the Telegraph from revealing their names...
