The point still stands. He's offering a service- why do it for free?

  2. You think Big Sam is any different to anyone else who gets into a position of power? The temptation to take back-handers is massive.
If you're going to help some dodgy "investor" rape the system, you'd expect to take some of the cut. As Watty says, why do it for free?

How did a thread about Fat Sam morph into a bag swinging bitchfest between Spuds and RS?

  5. To be fair, this thread has mainly been about Big Sam and his recent descent into the dark world of illicit back-handers.

HIAG has done his best to bring his Arsenal obsession into it too!

On the subject of Fat Sam I think the third party ownership stuff is the only bit he needs to worry about. His comments RE Woy weren't exactly respectful but not a reason to fire him and he said he would have to ok this new deal with the FAbefore agreeing to it so he hasn't done anything wrong there contractually. It'll depend how the third party ownership stuff is viewed but I think he will probably just about keep his job for now.

It's ok though because he will fail as England boss and be replaced soon enough anyway! <laugh>

From the Independent - If Allardyce is found to have “fundamentally undermined the trust and confidence” between himself and the governing body, he can be summarily dismissed, according to employment law experts.

Encouraging or condoning a breach of the FA’s third party ownership rules - as Allardyce has done - would be enough to damage his employment relationship irreparably, in the eyes of the law. The FA is therefore within its rights to dismiss him summarily for gross misconduct without any notice payment. “By way of analogy, if a senior banker was caught discussing circumventing money laundering regulations, it would be expected that such an employee would be instantly dismissed,” said Joseph Bryan, a pupil barrister at the Littleton chambers.

I don't know whether I'm surprised by his naivety or not, given his ridiculous comments after his first game in charge. Bit of a worry that he didn't have the integrity to think before spilling his guts to some random strangers in a bar.

I'd assume if they sack him for gross misconduct they'll then ban and fine him for bringing the game into disrepute?
