No. Because people like Jacky_Ickx would have all the Lewis Hamilton fans rounded up and there records searched and ANY bad stuff they had done would mean the death penalty.

Little ****, Ferrari are cheating scum!

I take it that you include all Christians in that then, George?

The bible is full of contradictions like that. I simply believe in and pray to God in my own personal way and I leave others to their beliefs.

That's fine George, but I think that you'll find that you're in a minority.
Most religions actually call for their followers to actively convert people.

That, in my opinion is hypocrisy and I don't buy into that element of religion. Religions preach tolerance to our fellow man but then try to force their beliefs onto other people <doh>. People are entitled to believe in what they want to believe in, be it Allah, Buddah or any of a million names for what is ultimately the same God.

As an academic and after years of slaving over sources to ensure their reputability, the thought of using the bible as a reputable source or guide (and any other religious text for that matter) is almost offensive to me <ok>

Live and let live says I. I'm an aetheist but I beleive faith can be a force for good and can be a great comfort to people in times of despair.

I will assume that was directed at me. I was just trying to illustrate that while religion has been a driver for evil for some people that there are other drivers for evil that are just as big.

Reeligion and money go hand in hand son. Religion is the cover for the powerful to dupe the peasantry and cover why they amass such fortunes and power. However more people have put a sword through a fellow human in the name of religion than the name of money

what your talking about is corruptness. All things can be corrupted even religion. No religion talks of 'converting' people if you look at it honestly.
Most religions talk about spreading the message, but there is no compulsion in faith

The thing thta gets me most though is that the bible is the 'basis' of debate and criticism of ALL religions. It sems your either christian or athiest. All other religions get abused using the christian religion/belief.

As for religion being the cause of strife. No it isnt. WW1? even the Irish troubles are political in nature and not really religious
