I really have a hard time understanding Jokanovic in his after match interviews, but from what I can gather he says that the new players haven't bedded in to the way the team plays, and that during the friendlies he trained the team to play a certain way and bond, but the late arrivals haven't trained enough and he needs time with them to change them from the style they were playing with their old clubs. For me Martin can not play the lone striker up front, he doesn't have those qualities needed, for me when he was at his best for Derby scoring goals with both feet when he was facing goal. Jokanovic seems determined to play slow possession football out from the back, this is why in most games we have a great percentage of the passing, but we don't get an end product, because we have given teams time to get back and defend in numbers. It's so frustrating.
Slavis comment new signings have not bedded in plus under par performances. stop making feeble excuses you pick the team and decide the tactics., The next 3 games must be a deciding factor in our season.
Having been at the match I cannot disagree with much that has been said. There does seem to be somethings missing, nous as we were often out smarted in terms of movement and gamesmanship, speed, penetration. Their CF was a threat before he got a kick of the ball, well that was my perception. We didn't deserve to loose by 0 - 4, but we didn't deserve to get a point either. I was narked by some stupid remarks our fans gave out, uncalled for and uninformed, but that is how it is nowadays. We need a goal and some confidence, the rest will follow. As for the day at the Cottage and the McBride experience, well that was good. All very professional by the staff, decent food, a free drink or two (well in the price) and I got to meet Jozabed and Aluko, briefly. I said to Aluko, "I bet the guvnor isn't happy" he confirmed as much, and Aluko wasn't up to be smiling too much either. A grand day if you fancy something different, so it is.
Did you meet John Fraser (1970's) ? He was suited and booted and doing the hospitality bit. I met him and one of the Fulham directors on the way home. Nice guys, infact the director offered to buy me a pint.
The legends that do the corporate stuff are brilliant. Fred Callaghan took my mum to Putney station after a game for free.
I couldn't possibly comment but Fred's Left Foot certainly was. PS if you let the video roll forward you should get some great 1970s Fulham footage
