Actually think a manc mate told me it...he was shocked when he read something about it in Fergies book. Think the Inter one halted when they tried to say they'd buy a pre made list of players....can't remember if the Newcastle one was from same thing or maybe something I made up in my head lol...

Got to be honest and say I have his book (the first one) and have read about a quarter of it (it was a Christmas pressie), I can't get into Biography's. Fiction only for me.

Just spent a week in Whinfell forest which is oddly bereft of bird life. Plenty of Robins, Wood Pigeon and Pheasant but very little else.
Went to Sherwood last year and that was absolutely full of very varied birds.

Have a family of Red Kites, 2 adults, 3 youngsters hunting over our houses at the moment. Released into Mournes area a few years back as a reintro attempt.

Also watched a peregrine falcon hunting a neighbours pigeons a month or so back..swooped in at serious speed between the houses..didn't see a kill though..fatter pigeons at back of the flock looked a bit jumpy for a few weeks though lol

had some crows up on the swinging feeders recently which i've never seen before

had herons in in the past, mostly when the pond was stocked with fish

think i can recall seeing a couple of birds of prey, probably some kind of hawk, yeah love birds of prey tbh, very fast and stealthy

there's an owl around somewhere that you hear hooting and screeching sometimes

also sometimes get a greater spotted woodpecker on the feeders but that's pretty rare you see it

We have a monastery literally across the road from our estate. Hundreds of crows roost there...all come back in like a black cloud in the evening...like a scene from the birds..loud as feck too...Although not half as many as when I was a kid.

Our feeders get loads of different tits and other small birds I haven't a clue what they are..we've had a Robin for a couple po for years ...aggressive little bugger he is too. And one wagtail...also a bully...fights off the crows...
