Think it was MITO who said it earlier - given the position we were in, it's astonishing that we were able to land a manager like Klopp.

    Great credit to Klopp.

He likes something to work with, something he can make a difference to, rather than walk into a ready-made outfit where he's just trying to keep the ball rolling.
I hesitate to use the dreaded word "project", but you know what I mean.

He is a diplomat who will not complain when the club fails to get his targets. He will always try to make the best of what he has to work with (unlike Maureen so far) but, like at Dortmund, when his best players are sold or his targets not met he will decide (like Pep) that he needs a break (new club) to recharge his batteries.

He would've left Dortmund a lot earlier if he was leaving them because his best players were being sold.

Did you miss the bit about not getting the players he wanted (targets)?

He said himself the main reason he was stepping down was because he didn't feel he was the right manager for the job anymore. Why are you making stuff up and dreaming up scenarios of why Klopp left Dortmund?

Not at all unhappy, I would have had Klopp at OT without a second thought 18 months ago, and would take him after Jose if Ancelotti wasn't available. I am just pointing out that he is no different than most other "modern" managers, when things are good and going his way all is fine, when things get tough they "need a rest".
Can you imagine Fergie, Shankly , Paisley, Wenger even managers like Hodgeson or Allardyce coming out with something like that?
It's all about image/CV now and it's all a bit sad really.

I wonder why after finishing 1st then 2nd in the league, he decided that being 17th made him suddenly realise he was "not the right manager anymore"?
Could it be because he wasn't getting what he wanted anymore?, the new guy seems to be doing ok by the way <ok>

Didn't Fergie almost leave a couple of times? Once to inter and once to Newcastle or at least looking elsewhere because he wasn't being offered a big enough contract renewal at the time.

Suppose that makes you right...wouldn't leave for reenergising or cv just more cash.

And Fat Sam maybe not a good example of anything tonight lol...

I can honestly say that would be news to me, but then, you Scousers do tend to know more about United than most of our supporters so I am not surprised.
