He wasn't very positive when he arrived, performances haven't been that inspiring now he's saying it's looking bleak if we don't strengthen at Christmas.Anyone can see that but has this man no confidence in his own ability,he doesn't seem to have any motivational skills or tactical awareness. Please put some positive spin in your next press release even if you don't mean it
I don't think Moyes will be reading this forum - well I hope not or he will be totally depressed He needs to find his best team and pretty quick. The young uns played some good football against QPR with O'Shea and Djilobodji looking fairly solid in defence. McNair played further up the pitch making and scoring both goals and could easily have had a hat-trick, so he is then dropped for Januzaj
Di Canio, Poyet, Dick and Big Sam all said the same thing. All looked utterly disillusioned. They all struggled to get poor squads picking up points too. It's nowt we haven't seen or heard before. Bout time we started listening to them instead of turning on them.
And yet I can't help but feel if you don't beat West Brom he's living on borrowed time. Stoke and West Ham are big games as they occupy the bottom 3 but they're also teams i simply can't see being there for long. It's a long time until the Hull game which after West Brom is the only other game I'd make you favourites for. Hell over the past few seasons there's been no rhyme nor reason to the teams you've got results from so any of those are winnable but for me the bigconcern is that Moyes made a big point about how he thought the Sunderland job was an impossible one to take last year. Not sure what points/games you had when Big Sam came in but Moyes is in danger of creating the same sort of position again this year and he already seems to have flagged himself as the wrong man for that job. Options? I agree with you Bri, I think fans need to stick with him as I think he's the best man for the job. I just don't think they will unless there's a couple of wins from that lot - the West Brom game is feeling 'must win' to me for the sake of Moyes.
It's a ****ing mess. It's a squad game and it's a **** limited squad. Still think we can complete though. Working on defending set plays and communication is something Moyes can control so I expect that to improve over the coming games.
I think most of his signings are players that can do a job for you and Djil has looked very good at times. The issue is just that due to squad size players who aren't necessarily ready to play every week may be relied on to do so and then there are limits for dropping/ rotation too. It's a marathon not a sprint, Moyes needs to work out who he can rely on, his options and identify some players to come in January and help. Thing is, marathons often end with sprints and you need to be close to the people in front of you to give yourself a chance. Surely Hull are down. Then you're looking at the rest of these guys: (I've not included Stoke and W. Ham as I just don't see them being in it). Are you better than a few of those? Quite probably yes.
He ain't on the pitch so it is all down to the players to show some mettle or at least determination.
