I see Harper's have now opened in Anlaby (opposite the Red Lion), that's three chippy's within a few hundred yards of each other now.

They certainly should, having said that Fields in Anlaby's pies are also very good.

Bought many a fine pair of shoes from there.

Also, Changes was a great clothes shop.

They found traces of meat in one of the pies and the news finished them.

Based on the number of customers I see in the other two I would imagine Fryday's do around ten times the amount of the others put together.

Hammonds/Binns is still going as House of Fraser isn't it? When Hammonds was sold House of Fraser was the legal name of the company that owned the chain Binns. Maybe it was decided in the end that House of Fraser wasn't a bad name for a department store. It's certainly a much better name than Binns!

The other chippy in anLazy is good forgot the name.

Hydes, 99% sure it got shut down cos it was very dodgy. Poor hygiene or dodgy meat one or t'other.

Skellys pissed all over Fletcher's sorry they're wrong there.

    Mcleishs was good too.

The toy shop on newland, forgot it's name.

Book shops on spring bank, love a good book shop. All bloody charity shops these days.

    Wimpy in station.

All good calls, so much of my early record collection came from Sheridans. See also Golden Oldie / Normans / Offbeat (old town version).

Military Mart was great for Para boots & German army shirts, other supporting clobber came from Changes & The End.

Goldfich Wines Off Licence on Sutton Park. Used to nick tons of stuff from there. Reg never seemed to mind (think it was Reg).

Bridges Off Licence. Used to nick the empties and sell em back to the Offy.
