Or is it ? Last June things looked rosy at SAFC,and then the blasted FA decided that they wanted Big Sam to be England's new manager.Since then, things at our club have gone rapidly downhill. We didn't sign Yedllin and left M'Villa in the cold in Russia!! Our transfer policy leaves a lot to be desired, and our owner seems as if he won't fund a major signing.Nearly all of our rivals have bought a "Harrod's player",and yet we are still shopping in Primark!.David Moyes should be being positive as our new manager, but he is already talking about relegation. and blaming the players for our club being where it is in the table! He is the manager and it is his job to get our club safe and secure.Get real,David Moyes, and use your coaching skills to get our club secure in the top-flight again
It certainly is not looking great that's for sure. I actually think in this instance the blame lies at the very top. I actually like Short, but since he has been here he has never really come to terms with owning a premier league football club and worked to a system. He tried the DoF route, didn't work, He tried the likes of PDC..and Poyet..both didn't work. The one I thought he got right was Martin O'Neil, but he let Short down. He now has his "chosen manager in place and he now picks the time to stop funding. This will cost him dearly. The whole club looks like whipping boys of the Premier league this year, which is a shame given the new TV money and the fact we have a decent manager. But in typical Sunderland style we already are on the back foot and this time we simply don't have the players to cope. I fear by January we could be cut well adrift ......like Villa last season
The unknown factor is who have we approached and got turned down. Around this time last year we were trying a Belgian international for about 15m, Fer (I think) for around 10m and signed Lens for an undisclosed amount so the money was provided but we did not make the signings. We all know the answers but are not aware of the problems.
The players need to be Brothers in Arms because they look So Far Away from the rest of the premiership its untrue. They need to take us on a Walk of Like and stop earning their Money for Nothing.
Big Sam leaving was a massive setback for you, with him at the helm you'd be winning games, not losing them. I do think Short is similar to Ashley though, in that he seems content with the lower echelons of the Premier League and just surviving. Ashley has admitted recently that he kind of blindly put his faith in the wrong people (carver, mcclaren etc) and that he made massive mistakes. Short seems more involved, more hands-on but he too has clearly made mistakes. Both clubs should be doing better but it all starts at the top.
One of them players is the problem Comm.....Djilobodji simply isn't ready for the premier league now...but he has to play because we are so short on numbers. Also, we have McNair and Love who are both squad players at best and rank average. we spent around 13m quid on these 3 and lets be honest, they are not value for money...right now. maybe in a few years, but with money so tight, why didn't we get tried and trusted payers through the door...mind blowing.
We let Kaboul go for peanuts and should have kept him till at least January. Didn't sign M'Vila because we want to wait till January when we are not gurranteed to get him. If we had these two in our current side there would be a different dynamic. All about spending wisely and making correct decisions. It's not rocket scientist stuff here. If you go into a new season basically with one striker then we all know we are asking for trouble. We bring on our own problems.
Apparently theres yet another power struggle going on between the players and the manager. If this rumour is true we have bben thru this scenario once when PDC got the club summed up in about 6 milli seconds stating it was rotten from the top to the bottom. This time sack every f*cking player there as they are the common demoninator not Moyes.
Only takes one of the f*ckers and if its both of them well theres trouble to be had. They are supposed to be professional. Just cos they have a hands on boss they have spat their dummies out ( if the rumours are true). Soft c*nts.
I think its getting blown out of all proportion. I think you are not far away from a good side and winning streak. Honest. Being serious you were kinda ****ed over by the whole England debacle. No doubt though, the chairman's heart just doesn't seem in it.
Purely a rumour posted on another SAFC forum by a couple of lads. Maybe b*llocks but most of the goals we have conceded have been individual mistakes as opposed to goals created by the opposition so have certain players stopped trying to hard?
I could certainly see the players having issues with Moyes. He's done and said similar things to Di Canio but as he hasn't the charisma of Paolo he's got away with it a little. He's openly stated 'not good enough' and 'relegation battle', he's dropped the wrong players and he's sent out one on loan in Lens who liked like he might fancy a game and make a difference. Moyes has been an unmitigated disaster to date, make no mistake.
So this is Your Latest Trick PVA. Where Do You Think You Are Going, acting like this? The Wild West End? I can see you getting suspended and ending up Twisting By The Pool, and getting paid Money For Nothing! yeh, sorry about that. My bad.
https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...tm_term=192280&subid=2243348&CMP=EMCFTBEML853 pretty damning, puts moyes in the pdc-style camp as well, which he openly admits to - wanting players to man-up.
You can't get proven pl for 5m or 8m. The mags had to pay 6m for a proven championship defender with no top league experience. Djilobodji is good enough for The pl imo. He's having a major crisis of confidence much like a lot of our side. Nobody knows who we tried and failed to sign. But it matters not. People will judge based on what they want to believe. Short ins will say he must have tried. Short outs will say there was no money. Either way the only ones that knoware the club officials
