Those on the march, including members of the Sunderland Defence League, met outside The Ivy Leaf Club at 11am on September 10. They smashed windows at the terraced house where the woman says she was attacked and clashed with a counter protest, led by members of the Asian community. Police rushed to control the demonstrations which was attended by dozens protesters. Two Asian men, unconnected with the alleged rape, were injured and five men, all from Sunderland, were arrested for offences including affray. Sunderland Central MP Julie Elliott last night called for calm. Southern Area Command Chief Inspector Paul Milner said: 'We know the woman had been in Sunderland City Centre on Saturday night before waking up in a strange address in Peel Street with cuts and bruises. This was weeks ago..There was loads of arrests the other week when the EDL organised a march regarding this, and were attacking anyone who was Asian in the streets.
Why should we be surprised? I watched a video on Live Leak last night of a bunch of animals from Afghanistan punching a woman who had dared to brake some religious "law". After punching and kicking her, they hit her with concrete blocks, set her on fire and threw her body into a river. All captured on film. Animals.

Disappointed to see Bahrain up there. My family used to have quite strong links to Bahrain in that a generation of us grew up out there on one side of the family. None of this is surprising Billy mate, given that the overall feeling towards muslim women by muslim men seems to be that women are third-rate citizens. Keep them covered up, keep them in the house and keep them suppressed. Women (and men) fought for decades for some kind of equal treamtent for women....and we've all got mothers, sisters, grandmothers, nieces, girlfriends, wives, etc, etc, we don't want to see them treat like dirt.
