I can't help but think, without Rafa Benitez at the helm, would all of my present confidence evaporate? Yes. It would. I honestly believe that if we keep Rafa at Newcastle United for the rest of his career, we will return, not only to the Premier League, but also back into the Champions League. He's that important to my mind. Which Manager / Coach would excite you more than having Benitez? I'm back at the same excitement levels as when we used to watch the teams of Sir Bobby. That is how good I think Benitez really is. Call me deluded. Call me a dreamer. Newcastle United and Rafael Benitez is a perfect blend and hopefully, once the high success starts, we can keep him here. SJP needs completing and getting itself (not literally) into the 80k region. Bright days ahead with our Spanish Maestro in charge!
Big game coming up against Norwich on Wednesday, beat them and confidence will be high again. Lets get our strongest team out and do a job on them.
Indeed. There will be plenty more bumps along the way, but this ratio of matches is a good thing for the squad to be getting used to once we qualify for the Europa League!
I'd certainly start with two up front, Gayle and Mitro. No good scoring one and trying to keep the opposition from scoring. That said, sometimes not even 2 goals is enough
37 matches to go so plenty of twists and turns, I don't think Rafa has done much wrong at all, Saturday should have been a win but for Gayle and Diame's failure to put away clear goal scoring opportunities, not a lot the manager can do about that, the time to worry will be when we get to the last 10 matches or so if we are not in the top 4 with a run at the automatic promotion places. Rafa has achieved a lot in a very short time considering the culture that was prevalent at the club, he has so much more to do but the mood is one of optimism which is a rare commodity around NUFC since Sir Bobby was shafted by Fat Freddy.
I really, really worry about the dictionary you're reading. Rafa is the best manager we've had since Sir Bob. If we had taken just one of the easy chances Gayle and Diame missed we would not have had the panicky patsies out in force after the last game.
