Your manager is a born and bred Toon fan?
Now I know that your greatest ever manager was a Geordie, but that's not the question. When he says things like "who let the dogs out" will be the song he plays if you beat us at the SoL, I find that sickening, the lowest of the low to aim something like that at your own people. Don't think I'm trying to "wum", cos I'm sure if we had a mackem manager we'd be getting all the jip in the world. My mates won't give me a serious answer so I'm wondering how much it bothers you, if at all, that your manager is a Newcastle fan who constantly slates Newcastle fans, I find it spineless.

If it's true, to be honest I find it ****ing moronic that a football manager would choose to play a song across the stadium which is likely to rile up opposition fans in the middle of a high-tension derby game known for past violence.

....no, tbh I couldn't care less if we had Kevin ****ing Keegan as our manager, if we were successful and he didn't leave us!

Can't see that it matters in the least.
Newcastle fans have always been regarded as parochial and are not football fans as such, just NUFC fans who would turn out in all weathers to Sid James' to watch the grass grow.
You can have a discussion with proper football fans.
Genuine football fans are not bothered who manages their team as long as it is managed well...
    That do you?

perhaps it's a retort (if true) to the song which was played at Sid James at the end of last season's derby at Toon - now THAT was tasteless and won't be forgotten in a hurry ....

It doesn't concern me one bit.

I thought he was a good appointment at the time, and despite me having an up & down opinion of his time in charge, i think he's done a very steady job and moved the club forward many steps.

I like Bruce as a man, and I couldn't give the steam of a rats piss where he's from.

It seems to bother mags A LOT more than it bothers us.

Considering our manager is a 'born and bred toon fan' it must hurt you to know he jumped at the chance to manage your biggest rivals.

I really do hope that you are being sarcastic here Chappaz because that is exactly what your club done in the fixture at Sod James'.

    To the OP
No it doesn't bother me in the slightest, but it seems to bother you enough to write about it...Do you feel better now that you have got it off your chest?

Is this a case that you have nothing left to try and wum us about, so you try and get to us through our managers birth place? I think it's good that he's turned away from the dark side of the north and embrased the light.

Epic fail in my eyes little fella.

Nope anyone that makes us a top 10 team and maybe a cup final does not matter where he was born.

As stated previously he chose to come to us and after this weeks fiasco at your club i think he chose wisely

Put it this way, does it bother you that someone from the "Geordie nation" can improve their main rivals club massively in the space of 2-3 years?

We don't care as we never talk about it but it must really touch a nerve that he turned the International team of Newcastle down twice. ;-)

Anyway: isn't he from somwhere in Nothumberland?...Not really a Tynesider eh!

They say that a 'true Geordie' is those that are born within the smell of a full Sid James's Park, which admittedly covers a hell of a wide area...<whistle>

No, but I think it was daft as **** for us to do it as well.

A lot of people accept that it's just a bit of fun, but if one of the teams gets beaten heavily, then I don't think it's wise to try and wind up some of the idiots in the crowd who will already be fuming.

Anyway, it must be a funny old situation for Bruce. He has a professional job to do and he'll give it 100%, but I don't think anyone ever quite completely severs their ties with the club they support(ed). There's always something there deep down and you can't just switch it off.

He'll be living and breathing Sunderland now though as their manager, so I doubt it really enters his mind much these days.

You call it spineless I like to see it as growing.
We are all born without a clue. Gradually we grow and through life's experiences we learn. Bruce has obviously learned much in his time.
He may once have supported your club as a young lad but has now demonstrated that he wouldn't touch your "hilarious" club with a barge pole.
Does it bother me that a former black and white fan is cementing the Red and Whites as the North East's number one? Not a bit.
    Does it bother you?

"Your manager is a born and bred Toon fan"

Not a very good one considering he's rejected you twice and never actually attended a Tyne Wear derby before this season...
