Watch the old films, particularly ST2. Its a million times better and if you think Cumberbatch is a good Kahn, Riccardo Montalban is superb. Just beware of ST1 & 5. (although they aren't as bad as some make out.)
JJ abrahms should be hung for what he's done to the star trek series. He's a) butchered, and i mean butchered a cult classic's history. The original series broke so many boundaries at the time, black and female character actually an equal, asians, russians and white americans working together... dealt with racial and political issue sof the day in episodes. this guy has butchered all of that by making kirk a drunken snot and made nohting of the rest of it b) took the original star trek movies and hacks and butchered storylines, cheapened and broke the timelines of the star trek universe. c) worst of all in new movie he's basically aped star wars in his latest movie. Cumberbatch IMO is a great actor but was made into a superhero character that was unrealistic. the back story for the khan character was as a loser in genetic wars that nearly destroyed earth... so... if they were all that super they would have won.. Star trek the motion picture was basically all about graphics they could not go in the original series (and obviously now look ****) it was not that bad. I do agree no 4 and no 5 were trash. the whole thing is we've had decades of a universe and timeline and story.. he's trashed all of it to make action flicks If he'd butchered star wars timline (which btw lets be honest i, ii, iii, vi are poor movies) there would be outcry. He didn't dare and vii was a bit childish if anything but nobody cared cos it was finally star wars again. Hes not doing the next one so its bound to be twice the movie.
