Swansea City v. Liverpool Premier League Date: Saturday, 1 October 2016 Kick Off: 12:30 Venue: Liberty Stadium After their battling 1-3 home defeat in the Premier League to "Champions Presumptive" Manchester City, the Swans' next fixture is a home match to Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool. Whilst the Swans were losing to Citeh, Liverpool were thrashing Hull City 5-1 to move into the Top 4 with Coutinho, yet again, the star of the show. Liverpool have won 4 and drawn 1 of their opening 6 fixtures - with the only defeat somewhat surprisingly at the hands of newly promoted Burnley in the second match of the season. Swansea and Liverpool have met on 39 occasions, with the Swans winning 10, drawing 8 & losing 21 times to Liverpool. In the corresponding fixture last season, the Swans ran out comfortable 3-1 winners against a much-changed Liverpool side. Andre Ayew and Jack Cork put the Swans 2 up before Benteke gave the Reds hope, but a second Andrew Ayew goal secured the points for the Swans before Liverpool's Brad Smith was sent off. The 3pts against Liverpool secured PL status for the Swans with 2 games remaining. Turning to Saturday's game, the Swans will need to show the same desire and play with the same intensity as they did against Man City if they are to get anything out of the match. If they do, then I think they can get a 1-1 draw. Anything less and Liverpool could run out winners by 2 clear goals.
For me, Liverpool are the best attacking team in the league so if we play the usual negative stuff we'll get humiliated. As it stands I see it being 3 or 4-1 to them
Hey you two, go get a room. It is "another great thread though Taff". Piccies and all this time, setting a real precedent.
We are going to get a 1-1. The players will totally ignore what Guidolin wants and will play some football.
Can we play West ham next week instead, because no doubt by the time we play them they will have this form sorted out. They look woeful and to be honest I am glad after the deal they had for this new ground.
This is the best i have seen Liverpool play for a hell of a long time and i think they can challenge for the title this season so i would not expect to win when we were good under Brendan let alone now. The only weakness i can see is their defence as that is not right yet but are still good. I dont think they will put a shed full of goals past us but should win....3-1...
Another difficult game against a team that can't stop banging in the goals. Liverpool look likely to be challenging for a top 4 spot this season but they still have weaknesses at the back. I've got a feeling that there will be a lot of goals in this game with the most going to Liverpool. 2-4 Liverpool. All I'm hoping for is that we can give them a real game like we gave City. My line up; Fabianski Rangel, VDH, Amat, Naughton Britton, Cork Barrow, Siggy, Montego Baston Likely Line up; Fabianski Rangel, VDH, Amat, Naughton Britton, Cork, Fer Routledge Siggy Llorente
Taff I think you have too much time on your hands It should be a really good game and I am hoping for a 1-1
You can never call a win in this league but we're in good form and will come and push for 3 points. The attack looks good as everyone knows, the defence isn't as bad as people are saying.
