All i would say is they tried their best and where their best was light ways worse than a few seasons back you could see we were yet again never going to win.....We will be in the Bottom three very soon and thats where we look where we should be and it will be a case of in and out of that position probably all season if things dont change for the sake of the club soon.....Liverpool next.....ouch...
.........in your opinion. My opinion is that if we'd played an open game against Man City today they would have destroyed us. While Barrow and Montero can attack (at times), they leave us wide open to counter attacks when they don't have the ball. Man City would have had a field day...in my opinion. We had an excellent first half, but the game was ultimately turned on it's head by a dubious penalty. Considering Man City dismantled Man City at Old Trafford a few weeks ago, I think overall most fans won't be too disheartened by what we saw at The Liberty today
Just got back from the game. Positives VDH and Llorente who showed his class with his layoffs to our players. Negatives Routledge still has his skill but is too slow and Cork giving the ball away too much a lot of the time with suicide passes to his teammates. I was almost in line with the penalty incident but VDH did stick his elbow out although I want to see it on TV tonight. Not a bad performance and only some last ditch defending stopped Man City from conceding more goals Am more hopeful after this game which was one we all expected to lose.
First half yes, but second half we were crying out for pace. If we are going to lose 3-1 at home to Man City, at least give it a go. My issue is Guido's inability to change things while we are still in a game. He ALWAYS waits for us to go behind to make substitutions. Man City's defence wasn't that good today, and with Monty, Baston and Barrow on the pitch in the second half, with Gylfi playing where he should be bloody playing, we might have been able to pick them off on the counter attack.
Two different games.....we done the double over Man utd so that means nothing.....We are not a good team at all, We have some good players yes but as a team then we are crap and most un fancied sides will take us apart.....All i hear after every game is We played well.......No we didn't at all we have gone backwards under Guildo and playing well is looking like we could win the game and we were nowhere near that...Do we look a team that will reach 40 points this season under Guildo? I cant see us getting 30 points let alone 40......The only positive is its another loss and one step nearer to Guildo getting the sack.....
Barrow did come on.....and Man City went on to score another. If they were that easy to pick off on the counter attack then why have they won 10 games on the bounce? Sometimes you have to accept that teams are better, take your medicine and move on.
Never said EASY I said we MIGHT be able too. Sit back or play a defensive system v a side like City and you will always lose, have a go at them, and you have a chance (small one at that) of getting something.
We are not as bad a team as some make out and did play well and gave the PL favourites a game. I thought Routledge should have been subbed at half time and Fulton should have been on the bench instead of Ki. Agree Borja was brought on too late to have any impact.
We had a good chance of getting something today, until we were undone by a dodgy penalty. Then we tried to chase the game and they picked us off. We give a good account of ourselves, and this was recognised by the fans at the stadium who clapped the team off. They realised that the team we faced today are operating on another level......just as the other teams who have tried and failed this season. Man City 2-1 Sunderland Steaua Bucharest 0-5 Man City Stoke 1-4 Man City Man City 1-0 Steaua Bucharest Man City 3-1 West Ham Man Utd 1-2 Man City Man City 4-0 Borussia Munchengladbach Man City 4-0 Bournemouth Swansea 1-2 Man City Swansea 1-3 Man City
VDH clocked him with his elbow. Clear penalty. Again you are missing my point. The team did play well, but after the hour mark it was plain to see, at least to me that Man City would score if changes weren't made. It was also clear to see that City's defence wasn't the quickest and Montero and Barrow would have given them problems running at them. Again, Guido waited until they scored before he made changes to the team. That's the issue here, Guidos inability to change things BEFORE we go behind. Regardles of who we play, we all know what his substitutions are going to be and when he's going to do it, ie bring Rangel on to save a point/3points on the 83rd minute or bring on our attacking players when we are a couple of goals down.
So as no one on here wants Guidolin as manager, it seems you all want Brendan back to play 4-5-1 again? It's about time you boys went down The Liberty and got your banners out.
I never wanted Guido in the summer and would have taken Brendan before him (although, not particularly fussed on him). Now, we are in a situation where every good, experienced manager is in a job so we need to be looking at someone out of a job - which, alone is a huge risk in itself. That is why, given the choice of Ryan Giggs or Guidolin atm I'd jump at the opportunity to bring Giggs in.
