You were obviously playing it the wrong way - you're supposed to bounce the ball off the walls, not yourself...

They also had 'Pentathlon of the Muses' - five arts events covering architecture, literature, music, painting, and sculpture. One Hungarian athlete won two golds in swimming and a silver in stadium design.

I don't like to be too contrary
Of the scanning of others I'm wary
    We'll just let that be
    And hope we agree
    Our favourite Dave's a canary

I see Irish boxer Michael Conlan is in trouble with the AIBA... "you can't humiliate our judges..."

Here's me thinking they've done a mighty fine job in humiliating themselves. Some disgraceful decisions over the course of the tournament, not least this one.

Yes - some dodgy decisions - not just in the boxing

Batty old enough to be that 19 year's old dad!

Are we that short on spinners?

Reminds me of when we took Shaun Udal..

I'm surprised that with Gus Fraser as Middlesex director of cricket and an England selector that Ollie Rayner didn't get the spot after the season he's had.

I've seen Batty and Rayner bowl this summer and the former bowled well on a dead wicket, winning a game that had long looked a nailed on draw. Batty's also an influential captain and about as competitive as they come. It's not a long term selection but I can see why he got the vote.

Middlesex win the County Championship - won by a hat-trick of wickets.
