This is one of the better predictions I've read so far: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/...11/aug/05/championship-2011-12-season-preview Fingers crossed for tonight. UTT!
Why does everyone believe so much in Brighton? I reckon that Boro will have a good season. Probably playoff
I don't get the obsession with Brighton and Southampton. It seems the success of Leeds, Milwall and Norwich has made people think all promoted teams will do well. And yet they nearly all have Peterborough bottom.
It's because Brighton and Southampton both have decent managers, decent stadiums, momentum behind them and have put together decent squads.
The promoted teams are the least predictable thing in the championship. You never know what they're gonna do.
Because they've spent a few pennies on a striker unproven above the third tier, which naturally means they'll do really well this season...
He's persuaded a guy who could have played in the Premier League or for either of the promotion favourites to go to BRIGHTON. Poyet is a legend.
Poyet is one of the best managers in the League, that's obviously going to affect how people perceive their chances this season.
I think we'll finish 14th. If you look at the comments on that article, one person says we'll do well and reach the Play-Offs, whereas another says we'll struggle. It's just too hard to call if were being honest.
As we're City fans, that would be the best thing to judge them on, we don't know that much about other teams. Being in a playoff spot is far more accurate than 14th-16th as some have said.
I think there is to much pressure on wham - I think they might ball's it up and end in the playoffs, lots of talk of 100 pointer seasons etc.
Last season 11th with no width, only 1 striker and no creativity or leader in midfield. This season, same defence and striker + target man we sorely needed, width added in Dudgeon and Brady, creativity (potentially) sorted by Cairney and McKenna to add the leadership. Yeah it sounds a lot better to me. Not saying we'll defo make playoffs, but there's no way we'll be worse. 5th-9th is a good bet.
very true and the momentum thing also - last season Norwich finished 2nd, some team in white finished 7th and some pikeys finished 9th..
