I think he's used the conference well. I think he's ignored the difference between a team who permanently sits back and a team who defends, transitions and attacks but he's really been smart in highlighting the crowd. i agree that on some days you can hear a pin drop in many grounds, not just ours. if the game is not that big crowds can go quiet fast. Quite smart to try get that bit more out of the anfield crowd this weekend
On the Migs/Karius choice, part of the clubs problem is that we've let underperforming players keep their place simply because we have no alternatives. Skrtel and Lucas are two prime examples and one was sold this summer and the other was very close the leaving if it wasn't down to injuries. Moreno has been dropped, Milner no longer trusted to play further upfield, Sturridge not playing as many games etc. Klopp is ruthless. This is Liverpool football club - simply not ****ing up is not good enough and as I say, it's why we haven't progressed. Bar a couple of positions, we have competition and klopp isn't afraid to lay down the law. Mignolet has had his chance to impress and he hasn't done a good job. Karius could come in and flop - but that doesn't mean we revert back t Migs and keep him - Klopp will continue to find someone who can do the job to his standard. We have a fantastic manager at the club. Exciting times.
My thoughts. 1) we should play both Mignolet and Karius and hope no one notices. 2) we will score first. 3) we will fail to hold onto lead. 2-2
Na...the reason we haven't progressed is we kept buying mediocre to replace or compete with mediocre... Rest of it I agree with though Jim
No, saw it. I don't entirely sure with that comment but i do agree with the zero tolerance approach from Klopp. If I put it another way, it is the most I'll ever agree with a Jimmy comment
Not too worry though, the new Fifa is out soon so Jimmy will have a new batch of European mega youngsters that we should sign
If and its a big if, cause i still feel we will slip up, we can smash Hull, by say 3 clear goals I think it will have a massive effect on confidence this season. Narrow victory or draw or loss and i think it will come back and haunt the team over the season. Massive game for us i think.
yes, despite our good performances this season, the freak result against burnley is still playing in a lot of peoples minds, Beating hull as you say by a couple of goals would go a long way to not only boost our own confidence but also to dent opposition confidence. Bizarrely given some of the big games we have had so far, in some ways this is more important.
I agree with you. I think confidence is a HUGE % of total performance. Its why Leicester won last last season (well partially) it's why SAFs teams could be Shiite and still win trophies. Player wise I don't think we're a champions league level club... But the early stage wins against big teams could send us that high.
Yes he did. As i said positivity is vital. Its nothing to do with a negative on milner it is a fact that klopp has the the starting there in midfield that he wants to play in a certain way. For me lets be positive and say he just really likes one player in a position than he doesnt trust someone else. I am sure if needs be due to whatever situation milner could be picked in that midfield 3. Also the fact is milner has created chances from lb and has been perferred to someone there to rather than be negative about that someone else lets just say klopp has asked milner to fulfill a need and the guy has done so.
Then what about swansea away? You could be holding fire forever. My view is enjoy the ride. Enjoy the ups whwn they are here and the downs are just par for the course.
I loved the rallying call from Klopp, "we must be angry against Hull, they are trying to steal our points"
