    THIS THIS THIS.

his squad rotation methods have worked perfectly. We have no reason to complain, or doubt him, or question him or his ways now.

Yes we've won 3 games in a week which is good but none of the teams we've played have been any good. And Austin's goals were the main reason why we won all those games. So why is it wrong to question Puel if he drops Austin?

Agree with that team 1000%. Redmond off at 60 for long. Boufal on for tadic at 65. Hesketh for Davis.
2-0 win, Redmond and Austin to score. Romeu and vvd to keep payet and Antonio quiet

I reckon this is one game Cedric will dominate in, missing all key LBs

lets not forget the reason we beat Swansea was because Austin started on the bench!

Disagree TLL. Long played more mins than Austin yesterday, and J. Rod probably out. Austin & Redmond are the most likely pairing to start.

Yes, but Long can't buy a goal at the moment. He can't possibly start ahead of Austin on current form.

I think you'll find he scored against Swansea which was wrongly disallowed. Long is making so many chances though.

I don't care who starts, I'm looking forward to when we roll a team over. Hopefully this weekend.

On the other hand, I would seriously consider leaving Cedric out. Look at how Watford scored against us - a total mismatch at the far post between Cedric and Deeney. And what is West Ham's biggest threat this season? Antonio in the air, coming in off the flank. If West Ham play it right, with Payet feeding in the crosses from the other side, they could seriously exposure us there if Cedric plays (and fair enough, we exploited it with Rickie - often from Richardson's crosses - all the time).

OK, I scanned through the thread and I saw no reference to Lawro. He predicts 2-1 to WHU and his guest sidekick predicts 1-0. But look at the text:

West Ham v Southampton (Sunday 16:00 BST)
Southampton have the lowest shot conversion rate in the Premier League, just 6.45%.
Shane Long is probably most to blame for that, but Charlie Austin is a finisher and, as he showed last weekend against Swansea, if he is picked and gets a chance, then he will take it.

West Ham have been struggling at the back but they have been working hard to improve defensively, and it will come.
The Hammers' off-field issues are obviously not helping but things at London Stadium will improve with time and this season was always going to be far more difficult than their last one, regardless of where they were playing.

From that text, I don't see 2-1 or 1-0, do you.?

I agree with him about Shane. Long has never been properly prolific, and he has been particularly wasteful in these early fixtures. And Charlie is indeed a finisher, but he's missed a hat-ful of chances which even he admits he should put away comfortably. So, going purely on Lawro's text, I still see reverse scores to his predictions. However, if our forwards don't convert the chances presented, WHU may well win this. Austin has to play a big part, I would suggest.

Oh I agree I would certainly start him. Just don't think Puel will.

In a way we're a very hard line up to predict at the moment. I like that, keeps the opposition guessing.

Well we do need to manage his games, but also need goals, I'll trust Puel.

Another thing to consider is Long will be useful on the counter putting their ****e defence under pressure, which Austin can't do

Not sure how you've come to that conclusion. Don't know how many minutes they've played together thus far, but the issues at Arsenal & Swansea was the taking of chances and not the creating of them.

Strange - whenever Saints win, it`s because the opposition are crap, never because Saints are good. Sounds like Lawrenson, or some other condescending BBC pundit.

I agree - I think Redmond will prove to be an effective, albeit different, alternative to Mane. When Mane arrived, he was a headless chicken, and couldn`t hit a cows arse with a banjo. Redmond will improve as the season progresses (I think).
