Over the years Southampton have been supplying young players to top premiership clubs. Last season we thought sales of their players was going to cause them problems and possibly relegate them. In fact, they eventually finished finished above Liverpool in the league. These are the players bought in recent years. 1. Reckie Lambert.£4m Some people believed he was going to be Liverpool Liverpool's Teddy Sheringham, unfortunately it never worked out and he moved on. 2.Nathaniel Clyne £12.5m. Right back, he has been great and he's getting better and better. I personally think he's going to be with Liverpool for the foreseeable future. 3.Dejan Lovren £20m. He scored the only goal at Anfield Liverpool vs Southampton and Brendan Rodgers was hooked: he thought he was the missing jigsaw in Liverpool's defense. His first year was full of ups and downs and Liverpool's fans wanted him sold even at a loss. However, since Klopp came he have more confidence. He even scored his first goal of the season at Stamford Bridge in Friday night Football. Even if the supporters are not comfortable with him Klopp have some faith in him. I do not think Klopp is going tom sell him and most likely to get extended contract. 4.Adam Lallana £25m. His price tag caused him some problems in the first year, since Klopp came he has been excellent. Klopp himself admitted that he knew him when he was at Southampton, and he wanted to buy him when he was the manager of Borussia Dortmund. Lallane is most likely to get a new contract. 5. Sadio Mane £34 . Best buy of the current season. Money well spent. Liverpool spent in total £95.5m on players from Southampton, and this amount can buy their current squad seven times over
Can't arsed to be creative so just going to say one thing and let others create their own tedious link... @InBiscanWeTrust ...
My favourite bit was "Over the years Southampton have been supplying young players to top PL clubs... 1. Rickie Lambert" I can't remember anyone likening Rickie Lambert to Teddy Sheringham though to be honest
Lambert reminds me of Sheringham, says Hammers boss Allardyce as he refuses to rule out renewing interest in Saints striker http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...yce-refuses-rule-renewing-Saints-striker.html Rickie Lambert transfer to Liverpool could be as good as Teddy Sheringham to Manchester United Read more: http://metro.co.uk/2014/05/30/rickie-lambert-transfer-to-liverpool-could-be-as-good-as-teddy-sheringham-to-manchester-united-4744536/#ixzz4L36yDc6T
