Ipswich sit mid table (11th to be precise), and have only lost twice this season (away to Reading and home to Brentford) Ipwich also happen to be one of Leeds bogey sides. It will take a good performance from the men in white to get three points. Leeds will give fitness tests to Pontius and Bridcutt, though both are expected to be fit
A result against big Mick's team are rare, but if we can win this we will all realise that Gary Monk is winning the war, and bringing everyone on side. best defence at ER for many years with 7 candidates for 4 starting positions. I also think Bridcutt and O'Kane are doing a real job in the middle, nothing fancy, just solid with a great pass completion %. When was the last time we did 4 on the bounce? Norwich in the next round of the cup will also be a toughie, but I expect to get through that too. canaries are one of the favourites to bounce back up, due to the unfair parachute payment system that rewards failure and makes it almost impossible for many teams in the Championship to win promotion. I hope we batter them and Jonny Howson sees what midfield players he could have around him. It also seems imminent that we will have new owners, suggestions are before October 13th.
I'm hoping for at least 3 points from the next two games. I fancy our chances more in the Ipswich game than the Bristol game so I'm hoping we can grind a win.
Good morning all. After playing three games against fellow strugglers and teams equally as low in confidence the Ipswich game will be a real test of how far we have come since QPR. I'm more than satisfied with our defence, let's hope we create a few early chances and pop a couple of them away.
Big girls blouse, man up and tell her you're going the pub for a gallon. Then dodge the right hook and you'll be fine.
Morning all. So it's Norwich in the next round. Should be fun. As for Saturday, much will depend on which Leeds team turn up & who we were able to select. If Bridcutt & Pontus play and we stick to 451 even at home, we'll win. If, however, neither of those guys play and we go back to 442, we may well lose. Think it will be the former and we'll get home 1-0
Am I the only one who's getting really excited about Saturday's game? I know we're not world beaters yet, but I honestly feel that we're now consistently competitive, and have a genuine chance of winning any match. Yes, a long way to go, but I've not felt this optimistic for years. I also hope Veg Varney is playing. Would love to see Pontus smash him time after time.
