I must admit VDH looks more comfortable playing the ball out of defence than Fernandez

Leicester away, Southampton away. Chelsea home and man city home. No one really expects or demands results in these games, just a brave performance.
Tonight I think is the first time this season we are seeing it from the off, And not just when we go 1 down with 20 mins to go. I wouldn't blame the players for this, it's the way guidoline has set us up. It's no shock that reverting back to our usual formation has brought this about.

Every time Baston gets the ball in front of goal I expect things to happen. Haven't felt like that about a striker since Bony. Hopefully a sign of things to come from him.

Yet, give Southamptons situation before Sunday, with this formation we could have got something from the game. I'll be bouncing if he doesn't use this system at the weekend.

Naughton off, Gylfi on. Now that's a positive sub.

    Now get Barrow on too.

Agree. He can cause chaos down that flank.

We are playing some very good football, but still no cutting edge up front, and Citeh have quality all over the pitch, out of the Cup, maybe a blessing this season with our relegation battle........<laugh>

Terrible atmosphere from the Jack army tonight, wonder why?

    2-0

On a positive note we are making some good tackles and not giving them much time in midfield something that we were woeful at against Southampton.

    Now get Barrow on

I disagree about it being a blessing. To me it's just another defeat. A run in the cup can help build confidence.

If we perform like this on Saturday with our first 11 then It's not to unrealistic to hope for a result

You have to say that Man City with their strength in depth are real favourites to be champions this season

Utd still drawing so a late Northampton winner and a goal from Accrington Stanley at West Ham would be welcome too!
