Stranger things have happened. When we signed Adebayor on a permanent, for instance.

Not on domestic television, no. I believe it's being shown abroad though, so some ruffian will probably stream it. Disgraceful.

I'm starting to think Pochettino has midfield blindness where he doesn't notice a difference between different types of midfielders. We started of by playing to holding players and now we've got 2 passers there instead. I guess Dier might be a doubt for the weekend, it's the only way I can explain not using Wanyama and Winks together with Eriksen begin dropped and Carroll pushed forward.

Hoping Carroll and Onomah are switched around, to be honest, Not sure what Onomah's like in that role but he can't be worse than Carroll, who's far better off further forward.

I would've much rathered we started Jan with Wimmer or CCV to make us a bit more solid. Don't feel too confident with 2 inexperienced centrabacks that haven't played together before.

Ah well, looks like Pochettino's not too bothered about this competition.

Whiteman's called Georges-Kevin as well? On top of having 2 Kyle Walkers, what are the odds?

Konchesky starts for Gillingham. Ex-Gooner Jay Emmanuel-Thomas too, bet he gets booed.

Very attacking line up but I think NKNG has summed it up pretty accurately with his last line:

Pochettino doesn't give two hoots for this competition, and neither could I quite frankly.
I think a line up of this quality should scrape through against League 1/Championship opposition, but would be severely found out if we came across a PL opponent, especially one that actually cares about this cup (smaller teams such as Chelsea, United, West Ham etc.)

Where's Lopez? I thought that Whiteman was about 5th or 6th choice.

According to Paddy Power, Lopez was actually signed as a striker.

No one suspects the Spurs Inquisition!!! Our deadliest weapon will be the weapon of surprise!

It'll surprise the **** out of Pochettino, as he's not even in the squad.

I'd rather we take it seriously but I'm not too bothered since we're at least giving chances to young players. My main annoyance is that we've got quite a strong attack out there with 3 players likely to start at the weekend but we could've done with some experience at centreback and midfield to make us a bit more solid. It won't help those young players much if they struggle so there really should be a bit more support for them out there.

I'm not sure that our lightweight midfield pairing is the best idea for this game.
If Dack's their most important player, then who's going to pick him up?

In matches like Sunderland and Gillingham at home, matches Spurs should win with ease, I get concerned if Spurs are not 1-0 ahead in the first 20 minutes.

Onomah and Carroll combining well, there. Bit of a hopeful one from Eriksen.
