Best way for the 'young' players to get experience is to play alongside first teamers, so pleased there's only a couple at a time being put in. Could be a big night for Hesketh - about to be behind Bouffel in the pecking order as well as Tadic
Heh, would have preferred to see even more youth, to be honest. Would have been nice to give Fonte the day off.
Remember that there have been recent rule changes also. The U21s are now the new U23s. This gives younger players more time to develop Glad that Jose is there myself. He still needs games to get back up to speed and he'll be a wise head amongst the youngsters.
The combined height of our 4 midfielders can't be far off the combined height of Forster and VVD (okay a little exaggeration). Will the Northam be singing the Oompah Loompah song to them? I've not been over impressed by some of our defending at corners and free kicks, so far this season, so Danns must be looking forward to this game.
We aren't really starting a bunch of inexperienced players at the back that need a wise head, though. There's Targett, who has 20 senior starts, and then there's our more veteran backups. I'd like to see what Stephens has about him at some point; we may need him this year.
Decent team that... suprised Austin is starting assuming he won't be at the weekend... Come on Saints!!
Half the team are inexperienced starters. You need wise heads. Crystal Palace are bringing a very good team indeed.

There was no sound on mine for ages. Working fine now though. We started brightly, knocking it around really well. Surprised how low the attendance is - looks like we're all saving up for Milan away!
Ah BT Openreach. What a joy they are. I once saw the aftermath of one of their installations into a bungalow that hadn't had the Internet before and was having major problems. I took the whole installation apart because it was so shoddily done, to make sure nothing was amiss inside the property. Half the problems disappeared, but still one minor one persisted which was very annoying. I called BT and told them of the situation and my opinion of their work. The chap on the other end said that I must not touch the installation and that if anything proved to the fault of my work inside they would charge £65. I answered by doing a complete about turn, suggesting that the work had been exemplary, but he needed to get an engineer to the bungalow pronto because the owner had had enough [a few weeks had gone by with no response from BT to enquiries]. So a BT engineer came and found that the trouble was indeed outside. He complimented me on my work and apologised for the shoddy original fitting. I think he was one of the old school who cared a bit. Do complain.!
I've gotta be up at 4am for work and was up early this morning, otherwise I'd have been there. £12 is a good price!
