Looks like 4- 4-2 or 4-3-3? Amos, Pelts, Morro, Connolly, Richards, Whitts, Ralls, Gunnar, Noone, Pilks, Lambo.

it'll probably start 433 and become a 451 as we get desperate towards the end.

Sounds to be a big lack of confidence in the box.

Whatever formation the fact remains that city are just painful to watch & again made an away team look like world beaters.
I couldnt see if it was a penalty or not but even so that's four home games on the spin where we haven't scored a goal ourselves and not even one in the second half
The manager has to go now

At least Leeds tried to make something happen, we just seemed to be waiting for it to happen.

It was either such a slow build up, or route 1 to Lambert in desperation as the only option when we couldn't get through their midfield on the deck. When it did get to him there was no one else there.

There were some diabolical mistakes in defence that a better side would have punished. Whitts showed a bit of class but was far too deep to make it hurt.

Fragmented play, no flow about our football and a distinct lack of ideas how to solve it on the pitch and on the touchline

Desperate times at the club and maybe time for some radical thinking, not just change of formation on the pitch

Sparky. We are simply bad. Selling Marshall showed how much ambition we had. If we stay up, job done. How sad is that?

    You know what, Slade overachieved.

I don't care about promotion anymore, i don't care about the Jacks anymore, all i want is to go back to the days where we had Dave Jones as manager, he was a manager who could run us on a budget and you never knew what was going to happen, we could win 4-0 or lose 4-0 but you always got the thought that after a loss we'd get a win.

And we had players who could play a bit.

This is just dire. My brother in law watched it on sky and with no prompting from me he said we were so pedestrian going forward that it was easy for Leeds to set up to defend. He also said our main form of attack was set pieces and not much else.

By contrast Leeds counter attacked with pace and had a plan.

Btw the pen was nailed on. Connolly wrestled him down.

Why wasn't that hippy sent off for Leeds?

Again we hit the woodwork - twice.

    Could have made a difference.

Today we could easily have won if we had (for once) some luck but

    1. That would only have papered over the cracks, and even so

    2. It may be a blessing in disguise if it means Trollop is sacked

Totally agree with you there, i was saying the other day that the Jones era was exciting to watch, we havent had a proper strike force since the days of Boths and Chopra and with the likes of Whitts and Burke feeding them it was a joy to watch, Jones was just unlucky with the defence. Would gladly go back to that now, especially with the dross thats being served up at the moment. Its more than dire.

If that was aimed at me, I worded it wrong, I mean I completely agree.

The other thing that has been noticeable since DJ got the chop is this, he was very good at getting players in on a free or for a small fee, some came off and some didn't, however neither MM, OGS, Humpty Dumpty and certainly not Codswallop have managed to get that kind of player in, I think DJ needs a bit of credit as in all honesty none of the others have managed anything remotely like what he achieved. I would like to see Warnock installed but i wouldn't be disappointed if DJ returned, that's assuming he would come.

He managed to get the most out of some of the players. Jason Koumas was doomed to bench warming at WBA prior to coming on loan and became an instant hero, as did Chops, Rossy Mac, Kev Mcnaughton, Whitts, Jay Bothroyd, Chris Burke - Just to name a few. Constantly, City were either in or on the brink of play off places and we all enjoyed getting to the FA Cup final in 2008!

Ok we certainly had some flops come in. Guylian Ndumbu Nsungu (Dave) springs to mind, along with the likes of Quincey Owusu Obayi, Robbie Fowler (questionably, the signing did get a whole lot of bums on seats), Eddie Johnson (on loan sure, flopped all the same), Luigi Glombard, Dimi Dropalotofit. However, even with these flops, Jonesy would have a plan B in place and we still saw some cracking games.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Dave Jones was the best manager we have had in recent years.

Not entirely behind the last statement Jay as Malky got us to the promised land- albeit briefly. However, as has been said, with DJ we had the qualities of positive and exciting football with some very skilful players - all sadly lacking now.

I used to look forward to going to games. Not the same now.

Whether things would improve if DJ was to return is debatable as he has been out of the game for a while and would have lost the contacts to bring in the right players - even if VT would stump up the cash needed.

It's the only way I can see to survive!! Maybe we can get a special dispensation in the interests of making the Championship interesting and not us as a certainty!!!
